Those singers you enjoy,....that don't really have a great voice?
major "mule" holley, his contrabass grunt of a voice is a perfect complement to his string bass.
Subwoofer boom is too much for me...
less likely your port is the problem and more likely you have incorrect slope and x-over frequency relative to your main speakers. fixable to a certain extent.

Where does "MidFi" differ from "HiFi" or "LOFI"?
seems to me that much of the "high end" world of audio products tries to impart a "luxury" feel and sound. the feel part is attention paid to aesthetics [the way a knob turns, switches flip/sound, heft etc. the audio part seems to be extra attenti...

the klipsch and elac speakers both sounded bright to my ears. mebbe if you got yourself an older yamaha amp with the variable loudness control? that would allow you to dial in a select amount of "warmth" without overdoing it. if you have money, to...
Has anyone been able to define well or measure differences between vinyl and digital?
to those who say that phonograph recordings [whatever format] have better treble response [overall] than digital, you would not like what engineer tom dowd said about that assertion. he said there were very few LPs played on very few turntables th...

LEDR test and swept tone 0-20k frequency response test.
Digital enhancement
the biggest digital enhancement i've ever heard [aside from dsp room correction] was CEDAR. elimination of impulsive disturbances and broadband noise goes a long way towards enhancing intelligibility and enjoyment of phonograph-based music recordi...
