How to tell if lp is recorded with phase reversed?
I have tried fliping phase many times with different components (including the GCPH), and I always seem to prefer non- inverted.I wonder if there is some sonic penalty to the switch flipping phase? When I had the GCPH in the system I shoudl have pl...

My Cerious Technologies speakers (Too/bass) are pretty off the beaten path, but use ballistic ceramic cabinets compression wrapped in Kevlar, and are pretty exceptional at the price.
Manly Steelhead - any downside??
Holy thread revival- Batman!I just got a new Tron Seven phono stage after talking with at least one other Tron owner who had a Steelhead, but then Auditioned the Tron Seven, and sold the STeelhead. He thought the Tron was far superior. However it d...
New Teres Direct Drive Motor Available as Option
I wonder what this motor would sound like on a Raven One (or AC)?Would the platter be too heavy for it? I think my One platter is about 20 lbs.The Raven motors are very high torque, and excellent though driven by a belt.I'm really curious.
EyeClops Handheld Bionic Eye
WowI have to buy and try this. They key will be to get it close enough to the stylus on it's stand so it will be steady and be able to get light in there, all without touching the cart.
Wood v. Metal for stands. Is there a clear winner?
Though not cheap, Sistrum stands are a remarkable addition to many components, especially speakers. On mine, the speakers stands just brought out such amazing qualities in my monitors, including bass I never realized was there.
Anyone else regenerating A/C?
MY P3 was not good for my Atma-sphere MA1's but for other gear it is.I now use a duet on the MA1's and it seems to clean them up a bit without removing dymanics.
Moving coil transfprmer?
Interesting discussion about slightly more than just enough gain being best.My new Tron Seven phono stage (once it's hooked in), may end up having a bit too much gain for runing the volume of my pre at something close to unity gain.My Atma-sphere ...
Best amps for MBL101e's?
When I started reading this thread tonight my first reaction was MA-2.My older MA1's seem to drive anything I throw at them, even impedances which are supposed to be mismatched for OTL's.I have heard the MBL101 a number of times over the years, an...
Raven One
ADDENDUM:I am getting getting acoustic breakthrough with this setup tapping the wooden stand the table sits on. With the Millenium feet attached, there was no breakthough, so obviously they were well designed and provided some type of suspension.T...
Raven One
I just got my Raven One up off it's feet and onto a Sistrum SP004 stand sitting on a new 1" slab of slate. I wanted to order the Sistrum sp-1 but they are currently backordered, and I should get it in 3-4 weeks.I was actually pretty shocked hearin...
Does digital mastering/remastering "ruin" LP's?
An interview with Bob ludwig (I think) mentioned that there is a full extra octive of upper end info on LP's cut from 96K digital sources compared with the CD version. Also many new LP's signal path becomes digitized in the lathe, even is fuly anal...
Raven One
I recently had the pleasure of a visit from none other than Thomas Woschnik, from TW Acoustic, who tweaked my table and and combo even further. The One is already in the "super table catagory" I and other owners feel, and I am going to try it on a...
Graham Phantom Length
I'm measuring about 9 1/4" from the middle of the pivot to the end of the headshell, but the carts stick out a bit more from that. The sound I'm getting out of the Graham on my Raven One is so excellent after having Thomas from TW Acousic here in m...
