Lady Blackbird- Black Acid Soul - great sounding new Artist
Yes I also thought it reminded me a bit of Barber.
Why not copy the greats- vinyl LP question
Yes good point about the shape of aging masters. However the thing about most LP’s from many years ago, is that cartridges of the era weren’t able to handle low bass and dynamics (as opposed to today), so there was very often a dub of the master m...
Why not copy the greats- vinyl LP question
There are places where people post hi res digitizing of classic LP's. In reading the notes, They seem to be decent analog rigs but not very high end.Might be fun for a listen but I'm of the belief I want my analog to a stay analog and if I'm going...
Is the Partbox 110 the best option?
Since this is an audiophile board, these kinds of products are not discussed here, but I happened to try a partybox for my Roland Vdrums and found it disappointing.  Much better to get some mixing speakers like Adam or focal that has Bluetooth inp...
So where should the tubes be?
"But don't know how a 70 year old Fee Waybill is going to pull off "White Punks on Dope".Maybe an update is in order? - Angry seniors on Medicare!
So where should the tubes be?
Way off topic but I have a promo LP pressing of the Tubes What Do you Want From Live that sounds fantastic. - I think its a white label radio station copy. When I moved to NYC’s East Village in the late 80’s everyone was dumping their vinyl for CD...
So where should the tubes be?
@tomic601 I’m a huge Tubes fan as well and saw Fee Waybill perform years back.  His persona on stage was quite the jerk but in person after the show proved to be a lovely, warm person.  I haven’t found tube sources I like (although I’ve  heard abo...
Discovered I had a One Step pressing....from 1978!
Agreed that many older recordings sound good but the master tapes do age, and that's what the one steps seem to be using.
Nirvana sued over "Nevermind" cover photo
Aside from the content, the article says that the band/label got no releases from the child’s parents. That in itself is a huge problem, and hard to believe a major label would market an album with no releases.
Discovered I had a One Step pressing....from 1978!
Have you listened to any one step pressings? Most are of older records so hard to gauge how much info could really be put on disc in this manner. I know it’s unlikely to be able to compare a tape generation with a pressing generation, but the real...
Hang / move large tv by myself? Is there a tool?
If the tv flexes the screen can crack.  Don’t do it yourself.  Please Don’t ask me how I know a flatscreen can flex!
Discovered I had a One Step pressing....from 1978!
I listened to it yesterday for the first time.  Really nice sound but was not one of l my favorites.
Audio deals you bought that seem impossible for the price?
Thanks for the replies. I guess what I was asking about was less about getting a good deal and more about how the manufacturer can afford to sell at such a low price.BTW I looked up those Tekton Moab.  Hard to believe that sounds good, but I’m mor...
Anyone notice SVHS Audio best other Analog equipment including turntables, cassette decks.
Here is my VHS Hifi experience (can’t remember is it was S-VHS). Back around the late 1980’s I used to do some amateur audiophile recordings of artists in the NYC East Village Anti-folk scene (perhaps before it was called that, and certainly befor...
Class A Power in A/B amplifiers?
Hi Douglas, I will definitely read the review and I keep hearing amazing things about Gan powered amps. I am waiting for a reasonably priced HT multi channel amp with Gan.  There are other factors of amp sound, like the tube input stage of my BHK3...
