Warped Records I haven't been buying LPs lately, but how bad are these warps really? (1/16", 1/8", 1/32" ... ?) Every LP I have could be said to be warped if you look closely enough I do have a few that used to have playability issues with my older turntable and...
I lowered my noise floor on the cheap........ IMHO, lowered background noise when you switch to battery power indicates that your equipment's power supplies, or the grounding scheme of your system ain't so hot. I have never had a system, cheap or expensive, that I could not get to be quiet. S...
Balanced vs. unbalanced Bob...RF signals will not get through either the (+) or the (-) input of a balanced interface, so talk about how such signals are cenceled is meaningless.
Balanced vs. unbalanced Bob...Exactly my point. Although some op amps may be usable at RF frequency, the ones used for audio applications, especially when wired up in an audio circuit probably max out at 250 KHz or so.Balanced interfaces do a great job on 60 and 120 Hz hum.
Bananna plugs Chadnliz...Some folk can be fooled any day of the year!
Balanced vs. unbalanced Davemitchell...Please explain how a differential amp input stage having frequency response appropriate for audio signals can reject signals at RF frequency.
Clarinet concertos anyone? By the way...An interestring CD is SIMAX PSC 1290 which is a performance of Mozart K622 with viola in place of clarinet as it was played for many years. I think this is the only such recording. It is available from www.arkivmusic.com, or from Sima...
Anyone know of good active crossovers? Waffle35...I have been using four Behringer products for several years with zero problems. The build quality is much better than Marchand crossovers, although I have used Marchand products in the past, and they function well.
Bananna plugs Tweak1...Electrons can't negotiate corners? Perhaps the "tube sound" of amplifiers is due to the electrons being dizzy from their trip through the output transformer.
Bananna plugs Tvad...Bare wire has a definite cost advantage.
Bananna plugs Bananna plugs are handy for audio shops where speakers are connected and disconnected many times. For home audio bare wire is second best to soldering.
Subwoofer: How low should I go? Even if the subwoofer goes no lower than your main speakers, it will do it with less effort (distortion), and will relieve the main speakers of the task of LF reproduction, and that will make the main speakers better in the other part of the frequ...
Changing to Quieter Fans in Behringer Amps? The CarverPro ZR1600 amp is a digital type and generates very little heat. The fan is there so you can pump out 600 watts times two in pro applications. Disconnecting the fan in a linear amp is probably not a good idea.
New Product......Intelligent Box Tvad...In case you haven't noticed, audiophillia is a religion.
Changing to Quieter Fans in Behringer Amps? Is the Behringer fan a 12 volt unit? If so the fan you want is PAPST 612 NGL. Google for suppliers. I have three for my CarverPro ZR1600 amps, but have not installed them because the amps are presently operating in the cellar, and fan noise is not... |
