why is it that on some records, sound terrible??
Of course the slow groove speed at the end of an LP doesn't help, but in my experience the accumulation of dust on the stylus (as suggested by Mapman) is the culprit. It doesn't take much.
Which Digital processor/equalizer ?
Rodman99999...Your box is not the same as mine, which shows only one plot. Use of the Rives CD in conjunction with the ECM8000 suggests to me that the mic is nowhere near as bad as you suggest. For whatever reason, it and the DEQ2496 make a great ...
Which Digital processor/equalizer ?
Rodman99999...Are you sure you are looking at the right box:-) And, I suppose you know that the RIVES CD has tracks which are, supposedly, compensated for the RS meter.Since you referenced the plot printed on the ECM8000 box, something objective w...
Which Digital processor/equalizer ?
Rodman99999...I guess the ECM8000 mic is not individually calibrated, and absolute SPL measurements might be off. However, the plot of frequency response (typical I suppose) is quite flat down to 50 Hz (where the plot ends) and the frequency respo...
Which Digital processor/equalizer ?
Snook2....I heard that Rives is coming out with a new PARC model that will boost as well as cut (like the Behringer).IMHO, and based on hands-on experience, your 8 dB problem should be easily foxed. Don't forget that the correction could be limite...
Which Digital processor/equalizer ?
Kr4...Well yes. It probably would apply to the Behringer DEQ2496. Jack the price up to at least $1500, and audiophiles might give the thing a try :-)
Which Digital processor/equalizer ?
Kr4...Although the equalization is done by a 32 bit floating point DSP module in the Behringer 2496, the unit includes excellent A/D and D/A converters, so can be used just fine with analog signals."Transparency" is a subjective thing. One should ...
Which Digital processor/equalizer ?
Cerrot...The 8024 is obsolete. The 2496 is much better.
What is your favorite material for loudspeakers?
Magfan...Chimney blocks have no voids to fill. Agreed that concrete won't rattle, but it will ring, and at a low frequency.
Need help usingBEHRINGER ULTRACURVE PRO DEQ2496
All I could do is quote the user manual. Reread it and follow step by step. It is really fast and easy once you know how.
2-way speaker with best bass
These discussions of how low a frequency can be reproduced always lack one important detail...How loud? Earphones, with tiny "cones" can reproduce the lowest frequency, but at a volume so low that they need to be on the ear to be heard. Small loud...
ICE amps need cooling?
The little Sonic Impact "T_Amp" uses 12-14 volts, so a single car battery would be sufficient. Since music requires only a few watts, and the amp is something like 80 percent efficient it would play for a long time before the battery would need re...
ICE amps need cooling?
Muralman1...Nice that Mr Ho's preamp is "Class A". By the way, how do you make a preamp that is anything else? Can you name one?
2-way speaker with best bass
The cone of a loudspeaker "breaks up" well below the frequency where it quits making sound. "Breaks up" means that different parts of the cone vibrate at frequencies that have more to do with the cone's mechanical caracteristics than the music. In...
ICE amps need cooling?
Ah yes. Then there are batteries. Arguments, anyone?
