Classical Music for Aficionados
Just heard few pieces by Khatia and currently listening Pictures. I take back what I said, she's astounding. I was quick to judge based on her youtube appearance.

Maybe I need to take a closer listen. To which recordings are you referring  specifically ? What about Boris Giltburg? Just heard his Rach 3 on Tidal, very impressive tone.

Having seizure like activity seems to be in style for a modern pianist.  Matsuev reminds me of Gilels in that sense, minimal upper body movement. I totally agree with jim about Mitsuko, quite distasteful. As for Khatia Buniatishvili, I don't think...

Has anyone heard Denis Matsuev? I personally think he's the best all around concert pianist currently in the world and has been for at least past 5 years. Just curious what others think. He's recorded most of the Russian piano masterpiece repertoi...

rvpiano I completely agree, I found his playing uninspiring and rather dull.

Is anyone familiar with Daniil Trifonov's work? He's a Russian pianist who's quickly becoming a giant that may one day rival the likes of Gilels and Richter, imo. I stumbled upon him 6 years ago when he played Prokofiev's 3rd concerto in Lincoln c...
Vienna acoustics waltz and Bach
Never found them. Kept the Bach speakers on spikes and no brackets for waltz. But I’m sure you can do it yourself and mount them if you invest a little bit of time.

New high end from Serbia? Auris audio
I happen to live within half hour of this upstate NY dealer. Thanks for sound advice Scorpio, I didn't think about stability of the company long term. So I take it most people here have never heard this amp.
Low power tube amp for Sonus Faber?
Just found this review by Jeff from Tone Audio: "With a wide range of amplifiers at my disposal—solid-state, tube and class D amps, ranging from a pair of 20-watt 845 SET monoblocks all the way up to the mighty Pass Labs’ XA200.5 monoblocks—all we...
Low power tube amp for Sonus Faber?
Thanks everyone for input. It seems the majority here agrees 30w is not ideal. So if that’s the case I might be able to get mastersound 845 evolution. It’s 55w per channel. Would this be better or I shouldn’t bother at all under 100w?
Low power tube amp for Sonus Faber?
I have a small room and listen mostly to piano, jazz, opera, classical, full scale symphony etc. If I crank up the volume, am I risking amp to clip and damage my elipsa? i really wanna get the amp, I’m in love with it.
Low power tube amp for Sonus Faber?
My options are 845 compact or mc275. 845 evolution is not an option for me. I think MS is more high end than mc 275 (is this accurate ?) and I’m trying to stay away from Mcintosh. I’m currently using mc452 and c2600. @mboldda1 how is your low end ...
Mcintosh C2600 preamp tube upgrade
ad48170I have the same exact set up as you with MC452,C2600, mcd550 and SF Elipsa. Though I noticed you switched  your speakers to Amati Futura. May I ask what prompted this change. What cables are you using? I love my current set up, but still us...
