Can the C2300 MC phono run a cartridge 0.5MV Actually, 0.5 mV is a bit above the rated sensitivity of 0.45 mV, so there's more than enough gain. It shouldn't be a problem, but you might have to fool around with the loading to get the sound right. Good luck & happy listening.
2 recent, weird and isolated issues with BD playback @tonykay I'm sorry to hear about your experience with the demo 871. Mc has always treaded me fairly and more than fairly in this case. I wonder if your experience may have been channel related? Not sure how they dealt / deal with Best Buy as a...
Audiophiles should learn from people who created audio Is this hobby about absolutes or about enjoying an art called music? And who has the hubris to anoint themselves an absolute authority to dictate how such an "enjoyment" must be experienced? Are we such slaves to physics, or metaphysics, that we...
SOTA Turn Table set up for 5K - more or less? Incorrect tonearm link in my post above. Use this instead: https://www.audiogon.com/listings/tonearms-client-inventory-wow-2017-10-20-analog.You're correct in your understanding that analog is a more involved aspect of the audiophile hobby. If ...
SOTA Turn Table set up for 5K - more or less? Much good input above, with the key takeaway being that the ultimate answer is the one being the best solution is the one you like the most.I have a high end turntable, arm, cartridge, phono section and IC. I have a high end universal disc player...
Cleveland, OH The meet was a lot of fun and very educational to boot! Thank you to @tgun5 for hosting the first listening session and kudos to @2psyop for making the trip. Looking forward to the next meet!
SOTA Sapphire speed issue @yourmomm I've been running my Sota PS for several years now, and it's rock steady. I adjusted the settings when installed, then again after the belt had settled and everything was worked in. Spot-on ever since. Your call, but I'm really happy ...
Any Sota Sapphire experts out there? @derekw14 You have to get a new armboard from Sota to fit the Phantom. Totally different mount from the SME. Also, you need a right-angle DIN IC for the Phantom to get everything to fit without interference. As far as SME V versus Phantom perfo...
2 recent, weird and isolated issues with BD playback @oddiofyl @tonykay @cleeds I have an update on this at long last, and it's quite a story.I dropped of the 881 at a Mc dealer on July 25, 2016 instead of Pro Tech (not open Saturdays). Yes, over a year ago. They couldn't fix the 20th Century Fox ...

thread for PMC owners I don't have PMCs, but am strongly considering the Fact 12, twenty 26 or maybe the MB2SE as possible replacement for my Rogers Studio 1. Would love to hear about your experiences!
The longest you have owned any gear? I'm one of the more unusual folks here, I guess. Don't change stuff all that frequently and have kept all the stuff I really liked. All of my "vintage" gear is at least 28 years old. Only bought one piece used and the Sansui was a hand-me-down ...
What Turnatable now? +1 @inna for the Sutherland 20-20. On the table, don't overlook Sota; you can get very nice Sapphire with any one of several arms for your budget range. If you're willing to do a bit of your own work, you can get an older table, buy new springs ...
Cleveland, OH @tgun5 I'll try the direct message method. FYI, this Saturday morning is NG for me - chores.
Mc 452 or MC 302 Remember, sound pressure level is not linear to power. The extra 150 watts nominal only get you 1.5 decibels. I happen to love my MC302; it works very well in my rig. I very much did not care for the MC402 with a pair of B&W 802s when I was... |
