The Raven Has Landed
Living the life!! I love it!!
Boy, Oh Boy! Towshend!
@millercarbon Glad you mentioned Satchmo. I've been listening to a lot of music by him lately. I was listening to an interview by one of the guys at Mosaic Records while streaming WWOZ, and learned a little tidbit of information. It seems that you...
The Miller Carbon Story
The thing I enjoy most about your quest MC is the path. You weren't jumping around throwing lot's of spaghetti at all the walls. One pot of spaghetti at one wall. It seems methodical, calmly, observing and assessing each step. So many variables fo...
Appreciation
@millercarbon  Agreed!  That is nice as well, definitely enjoyed the sounds if quiet and nature in my trip.@elliottbnewcombjr  I just have the one, I saw them live a few years ago.  They definitely impressed me.  I need to expand my exposure. The ...
What is the #1 equipment want currently on your HiFi horizon???
All I want for Christmas is a Dr Feickert Blackbird with a 4-point and other nice arm.  However my quarters jar is not full enough yet...Santa HELP!
Boy, Oh Boy! Towshend!
That's great, glad to hear it!   I sure look forward to coming home and listening.  Cheers!
klipsh scala speakers
For me stock La Scalas are good...with a few tweaks they can really sing and pound.  They are very loud.  If he is willing to tweak them (dampen, upgrade crossover) this would be a great pair.  In it's natural set-up it can fall short.  My favorit...
WHAT IS THE MOST TOUCHY SONG THAT YOU HAVE EVER HEARD?
"Don't Touch Me There" by The Tubes.
How much reality do you really need?
@fuzztone and others...agree it is about the music.  Good stuff here though, fun read.@millercarbon..."Until it's there."  Right!Personally, I'm just along for the ride, everywhere I look, there I am.
Boy, Oh Boy! Towshend!
@mijostyn Yes the kick drum is punchier, I can feel / sense the strike of the petal.  Toms too.  Upright and electric bass also much more "live".  Yes I have bouncy suspended floors.  Before I got the Nob Sound springs under my turntable, I would ...
Boy, Oh Boy! Towshend!
@arthur1260I agree its best to secure the speakers and stand if using them with the Townshend podiums, bars or pods.  It is pretty crazy watching my 125 lb 20"x30" Belles float.  When I touch them they move like a suspended turntable.  It would ma...
Boy, Oh Boy! Towshend!
@fuzztoneInteresting, guessing that you had good isolation already pre-install.  I don't feel I did.  My source is currently my weak link with original Kugel Arm on the TD 150.  I feel that my speakers low end was feeding right back into it.  Wond...
When did you most enjoy the music?
@millercarbon  There really is nothing in "music" then that requires sound.Get that!  We do not go to the party, we are the party, it goes where we go. Keep the inner child alive, it's hungry and needs feeding...enjoy the music...
How many vinyl albums do you own you listen to?
Agreed!  I collected a lot of great albums as my friends dumped them for CDs.  Kept all except the truly beat up ones or the ones I did not care for.  Passed those on to others to try.  I currently have about 2500 including the first one I bought ...
What is the actual percentage of people exclusively listening to vinyl vs digital?
I have not put in a CD in months.  Vinyl only for now. Over 2500 albums, love the sound, can't get enough...new (just released) to old (1920).  Yes I can play 78.
