RIP Sky Dog. A great and tragic loss. Will definitely break out the ABB LP's tonight
What's the deal with Microgrove LPs?
Thanks, but there seems to be some disagreement as to whether they'll play at 33 or 45. Not a real big deal, I'll figure that out easy enough. As long as there are no issues with today's cartridges, but as Czarivey admonishes: I'll be careful. To M...
Interconnect recommendations
I will look into these, thanks. The $400 max is flexible and included looking at second-hand goods. As for Amy. Doesn't everyone know her?
Phono Pre-amp Hum
I am also hearing a low level hum, but mine happens as soon as I connect any device. I've tried some of the fixs I've seen here: started by disconnecting the balanced inputs to the power amp (Threshold T-100) and there is no hum, so that means its...

Record Clamp for Well Tempered Turntable
"you have an incredible system" Thank you, Jaybo.
Record Clamp for Well Tempered Turntable
OK, so that's decided: No mat and I'll get the Reference Clamp. I have, however, been considering upgrading from my Grado Platinum cartridge to something nicer. Been looking at the Lyra Dorian or the ZYX R 1000. What cartridges have you experience...
Record Clamp for Well Tempered Turntable

Record Clamp for Well Tempered Turntable
Yes, the WTT spindle is threaded, but the threads are on the inside of the spindle. Don't know if that matters, but it might make clamps usable. I'm also considering a record mat, but not sure about that either. As for the Reference clamp, I might...

Now my head hurts too. I also have been looking for a new player. I have until 5PM today to choose between a two used players and one new. The two used are a Meridian G08, a BAT VKD-5 and a new Unision Unico CD. All about the same price (except th...
More CD Player selection woes
This certainly has turned into an interesting discussion on the merits of audio gear from various companies and countries, and I appreciate the education I'm getting from all of you. Vinylrowe, you say that I should: "Listen to what actual owners ...
More CD Player selection woes
Tweak1: What was your experience with the Lector. I think I want a CDP 0.06 Player. Here's an email I got from someone who sold Raysonic:"We did sell the Raysonic products, but I cannot recommend this tube cd player to you. It is my opinion, that ...
More CD Player selection woes
The Marantz is a little out of my price range at this time. Basically, I'm looking for a player in the $800-1100 or so range. Sonically, I prefer something that does not ADD anything to the CD that isn't already there. I hear the Cambridge fits th...
