Thoughts On Turntable Clamps And Weights
@mijostyn Thanks for the info. My turntable is a non-suspended design. At some point I will try a Harmonic Resolution Systems (HRS E1X) isolation base for it. Those are tuned for type and weight of component, but it won’t work with my current set...
UPS Driver Literally Drops Package with New Hana Umami Red
If a carrier dropping a well-packaged component that ends up fine anyway burns your butt, then maybe you should consider supporting your local B&M dealer instead of buying online. Just a thought. :)
Thoughts On Turntable Clamps And Weights
I wonder what a Panzerholz isolation base would be like, with the proper feet? I have a isoAcoustics Delos 3" Maple platform I use for the Innovation. Technically I have exceeded the weight limit for it by about 8 lbs, but I don’t have any isolati...
Clearaudio Magnify tonearm- replacing anti skate wire.
I agree. Just send it to Clearaudio for proper repair. I forgot all about the Magnify anti-skate adjustment. I hated it, and it was marginally better than the one for the Clarify (under the arm board). I had both arms and no longer have either - ...
Thoughts On Turntable Clamps And Weights
@pindac As you can well imagine I am familiar with the Panzerholtz material. Both my Innovation Wood, and the Ovation I had before it have Panzerholtz plinths. Clearaudio's Statement clamp has a Panzerholtz base, but as I recall it is now $1200 U...
Thoughts On Turntable Clamps And Weights
@pindac Since the subject of composite 1 kg clamps interests you. Previously I used a Harmonic Resolution Systems (HRS) ADH clamp. That one is 850 gr., made of stainless steel with a rubber composite base. In contrast to the Ultra Carbon TC-40 I ...
Thoughts On Turntable Clamps And Weights
@pindac My 1 kg center clamp is a Monarch Systems Ultra Carbon TC-40 clamp. It's a combination of stainless steel and carbon fiber.
Thoughts On Turntable Clamps And Weights
It’s impossible to generalize about clamps and weights for turntables. It depends on the turntable. Some are designed to use them. Some will end up with destroyed bearings if you do where the weight is too much. Some motors will struggle with the ...
Turntables: 2 Tonearms. What do you Have or Know About?
My Innovation arrived yesterday. I started setting it up last night and got it dialed in today. Really enjoying the upgrade over my Ovation. Second cartridge for the 9" arm is due in a few weeks.
Turntables: 2 Tonearms. What do you Have or Know About?
@blisshifi  I've had a Clearaudio Ovation for years, and just ordered an Innovation Wood (black/piano black). It's coming with a 12" Universal, plus an extra arm-board for the 9" Universal I have on my Ovation now. My Lyra Atlas Lambda SL will go...
You've run some pretty fancy MC's, but the _______ MM cartridge really impressed me
Lyra Atlas Lambda SL This is truly end game for me. Had a DV XV-1s before this (also great) and a Clearaudio Concerto V2 before that.
Turntable Isolation Journey
@mulveling Thanks for the feedback. I already know the Lyra I have is an excellent match for my 9" Universal so I expect the same or better with the 12" :)
Turntable Isolation Journey
@mulveling This is great information. I really appreciate it. I may come into a windfall and am considering an Innovation Wood Black/Piano Black with black 12" Universal. I already have a Lyra Atlas Lambda SL, so that should be a killer combo.  I...
Turntable Isolation Journey
Also, I have a hard time telling from the picture, but is your Universal the 12" version? I have a 9" on my Ovation, but if I order a Wood I may get it with the 12" and decide whether or not to keep my 9" as a second arm. I have a second cartridge...
Turntable Isolation Journey
@mulveling Thanks so much for the quick response. I assume, there is more flexibility in the 20" dimension? I have a 16.25" x 19.5" platform now, and I could probably get a HRS E1X 19″ X 17″ on loan from my dealer to try. IOW: are the three feet...
