Buchardt S400 Mk II vs Sony SSCS 5 in Bass
Sounds to me you have a low power amp problem. I have listen to the 400mrk 2 with my Pass integrated 250 and I could not tell if my Sub was on . The Buchardt have excellent bass.
New Naim Forum
Not to be a naysayer, but I wanted to know what was so great about Naim, so I found a good deal on a supernait 3. Im glad there was a return policy. It was just lifeless, nothing special. Thought I could add it to my collection, since it seemed to...
Pass Labs AMP’s- What is the best Pass Amp Sound for You from past 10 years
I have an integrated 250, up from a 60. It’s overkill for my 12x14 room, but it sounds wonderful on my Dyn special 40. I also own a Mac 352, Accuphase 380, hegal 390. If I only had to keep one it would be he pass. There is something special about ...
Technical assistance and recommendations needed
As said Canton’s are bright. You have a nice system it’s a shame you went with those speakers. I use Dynaudio with my Pass integrated and that combo has a lush meaty midrange. Not one iota of harness. As suggested try some cardas cabling, or if yo...
Finally added Accuphase to my collection
Finally removed my Accuphase from the rack and installed my Pass int 250. I have not use the Pass in over 6 months, and forgot how is sounded. As excellent as the Accuphase is, it cant do what the Pass does. Of course the Pass has a lot more power ...
Finally added Accuphase to my collection
Now that I have had ample time on my Accuphase 380 connected to my LS50 metas, I must say, if I have purchased this amp a while back this could have been end game for me. I know some has said that Accuphase can sound soft in the bass, Well my ches...
Luxman Integrated - What do they sound like
Same with Accuphase, although now I see a few reviews on the lower end line. I do not have personal experience with Luxman and step down transformers, I have  read that there are no issue with that setup. Might affect resale if you decide to sale...
For an integrated Mcintosh MA-352 amp, CHOICE OF TUBES
Yoby, i only changed the main fuse. To be honest I was not aware there were more fuses in the 352.
Mt First McIntosh
I’m 68 and got for my first mac. A mac 352 hybrid. I have 3 other amps and they are very good, but there is something about this mac that makes it hard for me to take. It our of my rotation. I sometimes forget how good it sounds until I change it ...
Finally added Accuphase to my collection
Swede, believe it or not my 380 is surprisingly very dynamic. I have only been playing it 2 days and it went through a few changes. At first listen the bass was so strong one of my speakers popped. The next day, after a few hours, the bass was so ...
Finally added Accuphase to my collection
Funny, I have been at this hobby since I was 12 and I’m 68 now. Younger I loved the upfront treble sound. Now that I have been at this for awhile I enjoy the warm laid back sound. This Accuphase 380 seems to be dead center of warm and upfront pres...
Finally added Accuphase to my collection
Bluorion, I have never heard a Luxman. It was on my list to purchase one, I have no doubt that it is a great sounding  amp.
Finally added Accuphase to my collection
Swede, it has been awhile since I have listen to my Pass. I have purchased my other 3 amps this year, so I have been putting time on them. Once I am done listening to my Accuphase, my Pass is next up in my rotation. From memory the Pass sound bigg...
Good old days
rvpiano, I can relate. When you read reviews, a good sound system is supposed to have a wide soundstage, depth, layering, etc. So when we listen to our own systems we tend to listen for those things, cause we get programmed to do so. However, we d...
For an integrated Mcintosh MA-352 amp, CHOICE OF TUBES
I also own and Mac 352 and I find that the stock tubes sound best in my setup. I tried mullards{new stock} and found they did not sound as good to my ears as shock. There was more and stronger bass, but sounded congested compared to stock. It coul...
