Passive subwoofer amps help! These were some subwoofers designed and made by Destination Audio to be paired with horns on top. All together, the speakers were in the $50k range. They were a one-time build and apparently tuned down to 20hz. If you look up the Destination Audi...
Passive subwoofer amps help! Ok looks like I was wrong. You can set the crossover from within the settings of the crown amps.. Ok I may try those. Still though, why not just have a low pass knob. I like knobs and hate having to go into settings all the time.
Passive subwoofer amps help! Ok those Crown amps are only amps though, what about volume control, crossover, and phase control? I suppose I'd have to use the controls within the Anthem preamp section to control volume, xover, and phase? That's fine, but it's just very limit...
Anthem AVM 60 full range front and sub doesn't work I did that.. I set the L/R crossover to OFF but the sub never gets a signal.. I have upgraded to the latest firmware too. As soon as I set the front L/R to 40hz, then the sub gets the signal to turn on. I've tried several times in different ways...
Legacy Focus plug rear ports? Also, while it might "sound fine" initially, I wondered if I'm doing anything sinful and detrimental to the overall engineering of the speaker... or is it just a matter of taste?
Legacy Focus plug rear ports? Anyone else tried plugging the ports in the back? I know a lot of rear ported speakers come with foam plugs. Yes I could try it, but lugging them upstairs will be quite a task so I'd like to hear some opinions before making this move.
Receiver with subwoofer level buttons? @lonemountain My point was 90% of the buttons are useless for 99% of the people using these things. Why not change some of these useless buttons to levels/phase/polarity/xover etc... Things we all should be using. Most of us love tinkering for ...
Receiver with subwoofer level buttons? @soix I have SVS subs and their app and i do love the app (except it won't link multiple subs together). This system is for everything from kids Disney, to my youtube, youtube tv, to serious two channel listening/rocking so it's nice to have bett...
Rant: PSA to builders, housewives, and general complaint @kennyc yeah you're right it's costly but many modern homes don't allow much wiggle room for this, not without damaging the overall value of the home. Many times there are staircases or other obstacles or it's already an open concept to begin wit...
Rant: PSA to builders, housewives, and general complaint @whart yeah we had a couple of days under 100deg and it felt great with no humidity! Anyway, my angst about the fireplace isn't so much with mounting the tv too high, it's the total lack of options it allows.. No place for my "spread" if you will...
Rant: PSA to builders, housewives, and general complaint @whart currently in the Dallas area. Considering moving to Atlanta or maybe Nashville but it's really the same story there. Same cookie cutter style that my wife loves. We have young kids so we don't have the luxury of living just anywhere base...
Rant: PSA to builders, housewives, and general complaint @yesiam_a_pirate agree! I'm not anti fireplace, just anti most $400k-900k homes build the fireplace right in the main entertainment spot of the house, right where my system should go forcing me to work around it where it's totally unused 99.9% of...
Rant: PSA to builders, housewives, and general complaint @mhemusic thanks and great suggestion for getting the screen to a lower level but that still doesn't do anything for my media cabinet, wires, center channel, possible short throw projector. I love having my main system in the main living area b...
Rant: PSA to builders, housewives, and general complaint @gdnrbob True and good point. But generally there are about 5 days in the winter where the effort and mess of a fireplace are potentially worth it.
What Horn loaded speaker/ speaker system for $10k'ish and under Ha why won't you buy black? just wondering. What about the Klipsch Cornwall? To me, it's the best of all worlds. Or the Forte IV which i find phenomenal. With your budget, you can buy a set of Cornwalls/Fortes and something else and swap ... |
