Levinson 432/436 turn on 'pop' You are right, not really a pop. I would describe mine as more like a little thump. Lower freqency than a pop. But, clearly, quick and benign.
Levinson 432/436 turn on 'pop' I keep my 432 in standby mode and have a trigger from my pre turn it on fully. There is often a very minor pop but nothing like you descibe. My pop is very quick and is at a low level. Can you try standby mode and turning on from there?
HDCD FLAC FOOBAR SPDIF Cary 303/200 HDCD The plug-in only partially reproduces the full HDCD decode. If the Cary does the whole process you may be better off turning off the foobar decoding. As Larry says, that should let the original signal pass to the Cary and the Cary can do the prope...
Cary slp-05 tubes rumor or fact? Sorry for the repeat post. I was deleting old windows and while deleting it somehow posted another copy. Sorry.
Cary slp-05 tubes rumor or fact? I found this interesting explanation of Psvane tubes and its relationship to Shuguage and Black Treasures. Psvance and Grant FidelityIt seems that the Psvane 6sn7 is out of production while there new facility is coming on line. And, from the link,...
Cary slp-05 tubes rumor or fact? Kiwi - thanks. So Psvane's 6SN7s made at the Shuguang factory should be pretty much the same, but with smaller bases, if I understand correctly. Guess we will have to wait and see what the new Psvane's are like. From the Grant Fidelity website, it...
B and K 200.2 I have a 200.7, which is great for home theater. It has plenty of power. However, I find it somewhat bright for 2 channel music. Certainly a cut above the amps in most receivers, but not necessarily my first choice for music, depending on the spea...

Do not buy any Sonus Faber used Jeffkad - just to be clear, this policy has been in place for many years and that notice has been posted on Audiogon for many years. This is not a new policy. This policy came into place because of unethical and what is probably even illegal activ...
Do not buy any Sonus Faber used So Inna, are you willing to pay $30K for a $40K pair of Strads, knowing that you cannot get replace parts if anything goes wrong? At some point service becomes part of "better terms".
Do not buy any Sonus Faber used Phaelon - Your statement that they have just placed the burden on the end user is just not accurate. Sumiko and Sonus Faber have worked diligently to tighened up the distribution channel. The grey market problem is much less than it was 5+ years a...
Cary slp-05 tubes rumor or fact? It looks like they only replaced the 4 left most tubes. That might go along with what I remember that you only need to replace 4 of the 6 when using single ended inputs. Kiwi - maybe you can ask them about that issue also.
Do not buy any Sonus Faber used Djohnson54 - Sorry if I seem too aggressive about this. I am a huge SF fan and have had great experiences with SF dealers and with Sumiko. Sumiko is not against the used market but they are against the grey market.I understand why distributors are...
Do not buy any Sonus Faber used Djohnson54 - This is about grey market speakers, not ones from authorized dealers.Sumiko is perfectly willing to support used equipment, as long as it is not grey market. Nobody buying SF speakers from an authorized dealer should have any qualms a... |
