What are the smallest speakers that are clean and flat down to 20hz?
I suppose the fancy way is to use something like this.http://www.digitalaudioreview.net/2016/09/waiting-for-the-bass-to-drop-with-devialets-samlab/
Killer Floor Standing Speakers under $4000 for Rock?
I'm curious to know what these things sound like (although not quite curious enough to buy them):https://www.amazon.com/Cerwin-Vega-XLS-215-3-Way-Audio-Speaker/dp/B002JGXNHU/Anyone have a pair?
Killer Floor Standing Speakers under $4000 for Rock?
@falconquest  - have to agree. I've driven our FOCUS SEs with McCormack DNA-1, Wyred 4 Sound mAMP monoblocks, and even a Sanders ESL. I have yet to try tubes, but I'm consistently blown away by the performance of Bill's loudspeakers with solid state.
What are the smallest speakers that are clean and flat down to 20hz?
I still maintain that this is a silly exercise for several reasons:LF extension without distortion figures is kind-of meaninglessMost sounds below ~32Hz are from environmental noise rather than musicRoom size and in-room response is a huge factor....
What are the smallest speakers that are clean and flat down to 20hz?
I'll need to find a way to download that Phil Collins track as a WAV or MP3 to test since I'm using digital room correction. Might be able to get the audio from Youtube to stream over DLNA as well, but I have not looked into it.In my case, the lou...
Killer Floor Standing Speakers under $4000 for Rock?
There are so many choices...the old B&W 808 monitors are by all accounts great for rock (as I understand, it's what they were made for).I've owned both the old and new Legacy Audio FOCUS loudspeakers and agree with many here that they are a so...
What are the smallest speakers that are clean and flat down to 20hz?
I've managed to achieve fairly flat/clean response in my 15.5ft x 10.1ft room down to 22Hz, but I'm using four 12" woofers and lots of power to do that at greater than 90dB.What I've found is that interesting musical content below 40Hz is uncommon...
Room treatment-I was afraid of this
It would be wonderful if there was a cable upgrade that could make as big of a difference as room treatments and getting the room right.
Can you leave class D amps on and not ever turn them off?
Interesting thread. I'm using the trigger cables on my Wired 4 Sound mAMPs to power them on/off before/after each listening session. May try leaving them on for 24-hours to see how things go, but that sound pretty great with little to no warm-up t...
Jazz at the Pawnshop
I agree with what most have said here. It's a pretty neat recording. Over the years, I've bought at least four copies....original CD release, SACD box set, 88.2kHz HDtracks download, and 352.8kHz Naxos 2xHD download. I don't recall any of them bei...
Music Server format?
This is several years old, but I think the advice is still valid.http://www.computeraudiophile.com/content/309-computer-audiophile-cd-ripping-strategy-and-methodolog...The TL;DR is use dBpoweramp or some other ripper with AccurateRIP support and r...
Speaker - Room/size dilemma
I agree with all of the room treatment advice (and there some decorator-friendly options from GIK, ATS, and others). However, even after applying appropriate treatment, a room with those dimensions is not going to have even bass response without d...
