Suggestions Please-Sound coming out of one speaker One other observation I noticed, any sound that was primarily coming out of the speaker that was playing very soft was primarily of the mid-range and low frequencies, I didn't hear any high frequencies coming from the tweeter.
Suggestions Please-Sound coming out of one speaker Jea48 & Elizabeth, Thanks for your reply. I was leaning toward the phono pre-amp and it feels like that is the culpritt. I swapped the tubes, but felt as if this was a long shot.Marakanetz, thanks for your help too.Lewm,I agree it's not easy t...
Cara room simulator Hello friends. It has been awhile since I used the CARA demo/tool on the Rives website. I noticed that I cannot locate the link on the Rives website. Has this device gone away? Can someone post a link to this tool OR a similar tool where I can inp...
Tyler Decade D2s: review The Woodmere's did everything effortless (with very good SS electronics) but were more speaker than I needed. The Woodmeres sounded great in my room; I never felt like they overpowered it. The Linbrooks with bass modules had some of the same chara...
Tyler Decade D2s: review I just received a pair of D2's and they're now broken in. These speakers have a seamless presentation. The crossovers and tuning seem to be perfect. The bass is tight and hits you in the chest. The presentation is slightly forward and a bit on the...
Where will devotees of Audio Intelligent turn..... This must be a new development because I just received a shipment from AI. Can anyone list a thread or link where I can read more about this?
My measured bass response of Thiel 2.3s I agree with Hiend2. You may be able to boost the 63 & 50hz readings by moving the speakers closer to the wall and/or moving your listening chair in a foot or so. Did you measure above 1000hz? Nice job!
Preamp Deal of the Century After watching this thread closely for a long time, it's time for me jump in. I have been proud owner of a newer model Cortese for about 3 months. The Cortese replaced a SF Line 3SE without blinking an eye. My unit has the latest phono stage Mick ...

Speaker Choice for a larger room Rooze,If you like what you heard from the Legacy's, I believe you'll really like the Tyler line. Ty's speakers are more refined, accurate, and nuetral than the Legacy's. I went from the 20/20's to the full Linbrook system & it was quite a big ...
Need advice on good, clean, stable power With a $500 budget, I would get two PS Audio HC UO's. Dedicated lines would be next next on the list.
$800 Cartridge Shootout and Upgrade Path Artar,I expect the Cortese to arrive at the end of next week. Not that the SF is a slouch, but I'm expecting a sustantial increase in performance over the SF. If it doesn't work out I'll keep the SF, we'll see.As far as the SF & Tom Evans, I'm...
$800 Cartridge Shootout and Upgrade Path Artar,You've got some really nice choices for phono pre's. I've got a Supratek Cortese on the way, if it works out in my system I'll sell my SF & Tom Evans. I'm not saying it would be best for you, but you could consider a Supratek preamp with...
Can anyone offer any comments on the P-1000? You have to listen to a P1000 in your system to comment on the difference it will make. Some folks don't think power conditioners/regenerators do a thing, I'm not one of those folks. The P1000 will reduce the noise in the power line dramatically w...
$800 Cartridge Shootout and Upgrade Path Artar, thanks for the kind system compliment. I think you'll be ecstatic with your front end. I will also add that you can place a want ad on the Gon for a OL Silver Mk I (easier to add the TWL mod) & purchase this arm used for about $600-$650... |
