Sound loss/ windows?
My nearest neighbors (on both sides) are less than 10' away, and I don't know if they even know I have a huge system.I too, have a few windows in my audio room, but most significantly behind the speakers. It is an 8' sliding glass door. (all windo...
Krell Pre with ARC Amps - how 'bout that?
Actually a great amp would greatly improve you system. The Krell FPB series is a wonderful mate with your KRC-HR, which is one of the best pre-amps ever made!Richard

Opinions on Pure Note cables
I wrote a review of the power cord on this site. I need to write a follow-up. It did great things for all of my Krell gear!Richard
Anyone heard the new Pass Labs Rushmore at CES?
I owned a pair of the Ionovac tweeters. A very strange product. I had it mated with the Jenzen four panel midrange driver and a large 4 woofer bass enclosure.I honestly don't remember how it sounded. I think for the time it was quite good. Now I t...
Krell Cast Interconnect Upgrade - Tara, Kimber etc
The local San Francisco Krell dealer is also a Tara Dealer. Could this be the reason for the recommendation?????
Marantz SA-14 v.2 in United States?
I own the SA-14.I heard (???) that the V2 would not be available in the US. I do not know if that is true. When I first bought the SA-14, I was not totally happy with CD playback. Then I let it burn in for a LONG time and things improved, great rob...
Popping Sound from Krell 200FPB
When I first bought my FPB300 (used) it did the same thing and Krell felt that it was normal with my very sensative speakers. Then the problem got worse and sometimes one channel wouldn't come on or go off. I sent is back to Krell and they said t...
How much Power do speakers really use ???????
All of it!I have compared the Cello Grand Masters (96db sensitivity) driven by one of their Performance amps which puts out about 1500 watts into this speaker, vs. a bridged pair that puts out about 6000 watts (per Cello). The difference was quite...

If you want to go the route of SACD, I have a Marantz SA-14 SACD/CD player that sounds exactly like you are looking for.John Marks uses it in his set-up for CD playback.RichardPS. Mine is NOT for sale
Early Mac Amps
I use to sell McIntosh amps. The 2105 cannot be bridged! For people who needed to bridge, they had their non-panlock version, the 2100 that could be bridged.By the way, I had two 2105's driving double AR-LST's (early verion of the Cello Amati's) B...
Digital vs. Analog Volume Control
My understanding is that, in general, the analog volume control is better. But, if you are not using a great preamp, going directly from the DAC to the amp, may override this difference.
Are there any balanced electronic X-over's?
Re: Krell KBXLast I heard Krell still makes the KBX, but since it is a specialty item, they have chosen not to advertise. Call the factory. If you find one used, Krell will customise it for your speakers for a mere $200. ..... and this is one great...
Is it taboo to mod a speaker?
I changed my B&W800's to active bi-amping. The change and rewiring of the speakers was designed by Dan D'Agostino of Krell. I wouldn't have done it without him.If someone REALLY knows what they are doing, it can be done, but be very careful!Ri...
