MC-MM-MI CARTRIDGES . DO YOU KNOW WHICH HAS BETTER QUALITY PERFORMANCE? REALLY?
@dogberry I suppose it depends on history…why don’t you do a little look through posts on the site, and I think the conclusion is quite apparent…
MC-MM-MI CARTRIDGES . DO YOU KNOW WHICH HAS BETTER QUALITY PERFORMANCE? REALLY?
@knock1 I suppose a more proper imitation of @rauliruegas would be something more like this: WHAT KIND OF STUPID QUESTION IS THIS? DO YOU NOT HAVE A BRAIN? DO YOUR EARS EVEN WORK!?…OBVIOUSLY YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT ANYTHING!   (As in life, so ...
MC-MM-MI CARTRIDGES . DO YOU KNOW WHICH HAS BETTER QUALITY PERFORMANCE? REALLY?
@rauliruegas  Disclosure: this is not my typical response, but I am simply going to channel your personality, and the way that you respond to others in this response, and perhaps you may learn something: What kind of stupid question is this?  Do...
Phono preamp with multiple inputs?? Suggestions please!!

"The Mystery Of Sound Is Mysticism"
…or perhaps Pythagoras was right ,and humans have just gotten duller over the ages…or perhaps Pythagoras was more right, but the others aren’t completely wrong…
Digital with same soundstage as analog
Tone and timbre would be the largest differences I notice between vinyl and digital.  I wouldn’t think that sound stage would be much affected by source, generally speaking.
Whats on your turntable tonight?
Bach, St John Passion, conducted by Helmuth Rilling. Today is the 300 year anniversary of its first performance:  Good Friday, 1724 in Leipzig
Planar Speakers and Diffusors
@kykat  Yes, thanks for catching that! In that last post, I typed: "I placed absorption panels on the entire back wall (with bass traps in the corners)." I should have typed "on the entire front wall" (behind the speakers).
Planar Speakers and Diffusors
@ozzy  Thanks for sharing your experience.  Next, you may want to try adding absorption panels behind the speakers.  Start with a few, and see what you think:  perhaps you will find the imaging more precise, and the sound less bright.  Whether th...
Planar Speakers and Diffusors
Try the diffusers, and let us know what you hear.  Generally speaking, I've read here and elsewhere that absorption is better on the front wall (behind the planars).  I have tried everything from nothing at all, to slight absorption, to full absor...
Turntable prices. Is my mind going?
I would draw a parallel to automobiles: a $2,500 car will get you most places you need to go, but there are cars for sale at $25,000, $100,000, $250,000, $2,500,000, all the way up to $25,000,000.  Where do you draw the line?  It’s different for e...
Rega P10 with Apheta 3
@veemike  Your Rega cartridge went dead in the left channel also?!  I had a P8 with a factory installed the upper end Rega cartridge (I think it was an Apheta 2).  The left channel went dead after about 50 hours on mine a few years ago, which is ...
Rega P10 with Apheta 3
@signaforce  I think @tablejockey is referring to a turntable with more flexibility: ability to change out tonearms easily, which requires more adjustments.  Rega is great if you just want a plug and play, but if you get serious about vinyl, you’...
Comparison of sonic qualities of some tonearms
@drbarney1  Thanks for pointing that out.  Yes, but is it possible that the audible experience that others have with linear tonearms is due to some other factor?  Maybe the lack of anti-skate plays a role?  Regardless, theory and reality can some...
Comparison of sonic qualities of some tonearms
@terry9 If you really want to expand your mind further to the cutting edge, consider the possibility that the Big Bang never happened! There’s a rather interesting book by that name: “The Big Bang Never Happened”. I think it’s been decades since...
