PS Audio unveils their PS Audio Directstream DAC
One reason would be that they aren't interested in trading up and they want to sell now before their MKII's take a bigger hit in value (which will likely occur when the DSD's are in full swing). Or, they hope to get more than the $2000 PS Audio is...
What hooked you to audio?
I'm 61 and have playing records since I was 6 or 7. We had an old Silvertone combo TT where the single speaker fit over the TT and fastened together into a carrying case....ha ha. I used to play my Mom's Brothers Four album and my older brother an...

Yes, what Gz3827 said. You have to generate your own key by checking the box next to "Use Media Network to share this library and enable DLNA"

If you don't see your device you may have to re-install the driver for your DAC.
Best interconnects & speaker cable? I don't get it
ha ha....that's 'test' not 'teat'.
Best interconnects & speaker cable? I don't get it
Obviously there are two sides to the cable debate. The objectivists are always teasing about this 'golden ears' ability that the subjectivists supposedly must possess to hear differences. Well that assumes everyone has equal hearing, but that's no...
The future for a current Squeezebox user
I'm not sure there is a problem. Your system works now and is self-contained within your intranet. It should work just like it does now until something wears out. The fact that Logitech isn't supporting it anymore just means you won't get possible...
PS Audio unveils their PS Audio Directstream DAC
"Anyone who has paid full price for a MKI, MKII and now this is likely in $10K"I meant full price MKI to MKII upgrade to DSD upgrade.
PS Audio unveils their PS Audio Directstream DAC
The original PWD was highly regarded and extremely well- reviewed...yet the PWD MKII was supposedly way better....like no-brainer better, and now the DSD version is supposed to be 'way better' again. I find it hard to believe the original has been...
Server question, should I bother?
"I generally listen to low rez downloads from Itunes or Emusic. I use a Macbook equipped with Pure Music, and an M2tech hiface Evo going to my DAC. I love the convenience of the Macbook and the Itunes interface. For this type of source material, w...
why do hi-end fuses keep blowing, while std don't?
"That the upgraded fuses are blowing and the stock fuses are not would indicate to me that the stock fuses are more forgiving and the upgraded fuses are only doing what they are supposed to do-self destruct before something awful happens."You coul...
why do hi-end fuses keep blowing, while std don't?
I had my first audiophile fuse blow in my tube integrated within a few days (hi fi tuning silver star). I started doing some research on some of the other brands and found one that said in small print at the bottom of the ad that it was not design...

Hi-Fi Fuses - SNAKE OIL? - or something in it?
IMO, to say that an upgraded fuse or power cord can't improve SQ because it "defies the laws of physics", or some other science, implies physicists and other scientists have learned 100% of everything there is to possibly know...which is pretty na...
Desktop System DAC
I use the Grant Fidelity TubeDac 11 but with a USB to SPDIF converter (M2Tech Hi-Face II) and it sounds really nice. If you plan on going straight USB to USB on most DACs you might be a little disappointed.
