Amp for Mirage M1 Si's?? Gee this thread brings back memories. I had the original M1s, the first year it came out. The best I've ever heard them was with Atmasphere M1s tube amps, but way out of most peoples price range. I think you might have trouble getting the best out...
Choice between Weiss Minerva & Berkley Alpha DAC tbg, did actually do a side by side comparison between berkley and minerva?
Diffusion versus absorption behind speakers? Thanks Clio. I think your approach is making more sense to me. Leave the front wall alone and treat the corners of the room and possibly side wall first reflection point.
SHOW attendees: please post speaker reports here I have to agree the new Hansen reference speaker is THE MOST UGLY speaker I have ever seen. If it was brown, it would look like King Kong just made a doo doo. Sorry Hansen, you really dropped the big one this time.
Diffusion versus absorption behind speakers? I have tried rugs, curtains, furniture etc as "room treatments" but in general I did not find significant improvements. Professionally made acoustic treatments (ie, GIK, RealTraps, etc) are designed (with measurements done in certified acoustic la...
Sony XA5400ES DAC Chip I would be extremely cautious dealing with American Theater. There are lots of negative posts on AA about them. As far as know, they are not authorized dealers for some of the electronics they sell, including Marantz.

Ridge Street Audio Sason Owners Do you guys use aborption or diffusion panels behind your speakers?
Ridge Street Audio Sason Owners Aggielaw, holding onto speakers for 3 years is like a lifetime to some audiophiles. Congradulations. I hope I will enjoy my Sasons as much as some of you. Seems like you like the McCormacks for amplification. Is this what you settled on after audi...
Ridge Street Audio Sason Owners Rubinken, I think the MA9S2 has been supplanted by the Jones Audio amp ($19k, yikes) that was just reviewed on 10audio site. The Marantzes are beautiful, and I'm sure they kick ass driving the Sasons. But again those are some expensive electronics...
Ridge Street Audio Sason Owners I heard the Atmaspheres are great with the Sasons but the price is steep...Sigh..may be one day. Is it just me or do people have problem spending more money on the amps than the speakers?
Ridge Street Audio Sason Owners What is lacking about the Sasons that you want to change? Please tell us what amp is comming and let us know how it compares to your Mac.
Ridge Street Audio Sason Owners Hi Brian, I have 200 watt tube mono blocks that were designed by Bob Carver and Tim de Paravicini (of EAR fame) using vintage transformers. According to Bob, they sound better than the massively expensive Carver Silver Seven tube monoblocks (remem...
Ridge Street Audio Sason Owners musicfile, the new sasons are smaller, 5 inches shorter and weigh only "110" lbs, now that xcovers are in the stands. But with integrated stands they still weigh around 250 lbs afters the stands are filled with lead shot and sand as recommended. I...
