Componets first, cables second? Whatever Pauly; I might have read too much into your posts (and or misread!), but I got a little riled up concerning your blatant rips on another's system. No harm no foul.Happy tunes.
Componets first, cables second? paul: here is a term for you and your more money = audiophile notion:A-hole-ophile.
How many more years before cd's become passe? For me the death of cd has been exaggerated (like most of you I am at the consumer level; however, if I worked in the music recording/distribution industry I might have a different opinion).I have had my squeezebox for about a year. I love the con...
A butt-load spent in cables - how much improvemt? Muralman1Makes sense as those 9k cables are basically funding an R/D effort to tailor the sound with R,L,C, and dielectrics tuned for a particular voicing. These cables are far from "neutral", despite their best efforts to sound that way.
''Manuf. warranty '' with non-authorized vendor ? hmm wonder just how much audigon inventory is circulationg around that originated from unauthorized resellers?I hope someone with more expertise in this area would say something, as most of this is speculation on my part.
''Manuf. warranty '' with non-authorized vendor ? This is my second post. We will see if it gets through. In line with Tim916's post, perhaps the reason why manufacturers "turn a blind eye" toward the unauthorized channels is that the units entering said channels may not be 100% meeting spec like ...
Cables for Audio Research congratulations. That is some excellent gear. FWIW I have been using Kimber HERO XLR from the LS15 to the VT100 and to my tired ears it sounds marvelous.I think the KS may be a notch above that so rest easy!D
A butt-load spent in cables - how much improvemt? Vman,Just do it. No one will laugh.
ARC amps and 6550C Winged "C" small pins I bought 8 power tubes from upscale audio, SED 6550, and they feel like they are tight fitting.
Promitheus TVC preamp do you think the bal ver will work in my system?
Squeeze Box Love'n'hate ok, but they are pretty much about at the point where you have to radically alter the device, no? I mean the physical layout is optimized for transmission line for that specific topology. Perhaps a dropin footprint equivalent device exists, otherw...
Squeeze Box Love'n'hate Thanks Steve.I thought (from the data sheet and the DAC1 implemenation) the SRC chip keeps the two clocks separate, though: 1) The serial data side (most jitter), and 2)on board 20 something MHz crystal, the clk signal of which is fed to the SRC si...
Squeeze Box Love'n'hate Steve N.Can you please explain how the use of the pacecar reclocker would be of benefit when used between the SQBX3 and DAC1, over a good true 75 ohm tranmission line in s/pdif mode? As I understand it, the Benchmark DAC1 has an AKM 4114 S/Pdif re...
Marantz SA8001 vs SA8260, and SA8001 mod questions i had both. THe 8001 is a tad more transparent, has better treble definition but is not as warm and romantic as the 8260. The rock sold transport was a huge improvement!!I liked the 8001 alot. Very high value player.I would say the biggest "weakne...
What equipment or event thrust you into the hobby? 2 years old, my dad recorded christmas morning's on a pioneer 8 track (I still have it), I loved playing with the mics, wires, and watching the analog VU meters move when we spoke. I used to get in trouble (recorded of course) b/c I could not leav... |
