Tubes to solid state for amplifier path...
AbucktwoeightyYour Pass will not run any cooler when it "switches", er I mean, leaves class A and transitions into B. What an interesting thread as I'm taking the digital plunge and trying a bel canto S300. My ARC VT100MKII is currently out of ser...
AR LS 26 and Pass Labs X350.5 Compatible?
Aurelius,Any news on the ARC/Pass front?
Mike Doughty Fans?
Any more Soul Coughing fans out there? I recently started listening to Ruby Vroom, Irristible Bliss, and El Oso. It's been since about 1999/2000 since I last listened. I must have lost them in the shuffles of life but a friend loaned them to me an...
How often do you swap out equipment in general
Jorgeparrapuppy:you sound "normal" to me ;)
SS Amp for natural vocals
Had CJ MF-2250A, had ARC 100.2 (exceptional), listened to BAT Vk500 (w/bat pak) extensively (ARC 100.2 was tops), had ARC VT100mkii, had many McCormacks, now have Pass x250.5...the Pass is the closest to the VT100mkii on vocals as any other, but b...

Three Cheers for Pass Labs
BTW,Do you have the details on the bias test? I would like to chek mine for the heck of it...I'm sure it can't be any tougher than when I rebiased my arc VT100MKII...hot and nerve wracking with the dmm probes across a 450 volt potential...while tw...
Three Cheers for Pass Labs
That IS awesome. Thank you for sharing the good news.
Pass Labs x-1 high gain
yes. the inner detail, even on the x2.5 is the best i've heard yet in my system. That was one of my 1st remarks about the x2.5; the noise floor seems to be so far down, which leads to excellent forward projection of whatever comes into the unit up...
Pass Labs x-1 high gain
Spaz, I have an X2.5 preamp and an X250.5 identical gain structures, different power. I too usually do not go above about 14 on the scale with my 4.5 vrms xlr input...the default gain setting for the preamps (x1, and x2.5) is the lower of the two....
When is digital going to get the soul of music?

Why use CD Transport instead of computer source
Audphile1Very nice test and description of results. Thanks for posting! I am 100% into server based system now and am looking to get a nice new DAC; the DAC3 seems pretty awesome across the board to nearly keep up with the vaunted ARC CD3MKII.
