What is the best Dynavector MC cartridge - why?
regardless of price is the XV-1. I am on my 2nd one now and owned for 6 or 7 years I guess. I have heard the XV-1s and also owned the previous model te-kaitora which was very good as well. I have not heard the Air tight, but opinions seem to be al...
Why the sudden popularity of 12 inch arms
Raul " I change six long tonearms for the short ones because I can't find a real/true quality sound improvement in the long ones" Looks like you bought some crappy 12 inch arms. Like to share what those six 12 inch arms are ?? So we can stay clear...
Why the sudden popularity of 12 inch arms
I think the discussions and debate's that are ongoing is great. My original point of the post was really to see if any folks had changed from a 9 inch arm to a 12 inch arm and what were the results in your system. Clearly Zieman has seen positive ...
Graham Phantom vs Triplaner
heh GentsI changed to the damped bearing on the weekend and I am a happy audiophile again. Big difference between 12.6 and 12.7 arm's for the VPI HRX. the music now has the required fullness in the upper mids / lower treble combined with great tra...

Why the sudden popularity of 12 inch arms
Yea that is what prompted me to ask the question as RG has reviewed a half a dozen 12 inch arms in the last few months. He says they blow their 9 inch equivalents out of the water for playing music.
Graham Phantom vs Triplaner
Halcro Have you the copperhead properly set up yet?? Phil from hifi junction showed me one yesterday and boy hemp looks and feels strange but overall an impressive looking arm. All the wires made me a bit nervous thou. He said you were still waiti...
Graham Phantom vs Triplaner
thanks Sirspeedy - After all its the music we all live for and to play. HW is one of audio's nicest guys. The 12.5 arm has the damped bearing, 12.6 has undamped bearing, 12.7 back to damped bearing with motor honey instead of silicone. I am actual...
Graham Phantom vs Triplaner
All Just an update on my table. The Phantom / Triplaner may have to wait a while, as there is still life left in the VPI HRX. SirSpeedy, I have taken your advise and spoken to HW and he very kindly offered to swap the 12.6 arm wand with the new 12...
Modwright SWP 9.0se, Anyone heard it?
Anyone heard it yet. It has some nice reviews.
Will the new C.A.T. LEGEND be the ultimate preamp?
Does the CAT pre amp have remote control yet???
The Anatomy of the Acapella Violon - shocking find
Try a loaner first to see how responsive the woofers are to SS power. make your mind up from then. personally I don't think the CAD-200 will have enough power and control. bel canto ref1000's are quite good and not that expensive
The Anatomy of the Acapella Violon - shocking find
Keith Borrow a pair of CAD 500MB's from your mate at audiophile or better still borrow a boulder amp from Sensis where you bought the speakers. One thing for sure, I recently tried a Gyrphon Encore, Levinson 436's and 33h's. They certainly have mo...
Graham Phantom vs Triplaner
Atmosphere It was towards the end of the last day, almost when you were packing up. Tri gave me a copy of the Tri-planer manual to look thru, however stupid me somehow lost it before I could read the thing.
Graham Phantom vs Triplaner
Raul Humor me here. What is the difference between VPI or Graham type arm and using different headshell weights compared to using same arm with different headshells?? Also where can you get the Ortofon tonearms from?. They are not on the Ortofon w...
