Time to choose: Baerwald, Lofgren, Stevenson ?
Interesting the debate over the 3 main alignment curves, how most can detect differences in tracking errors depending where on the lp one is tracking and everyone has a favourite alignment.  Mine is Stevenson as it sounds better/cleaner than the o...
Kronos vs TW Acoustic
I have had a Graham Phantom for a few years.  I still own as I put the Thales on the 2nd armboard.  The Thales is better in every respect I am afraid.   Not that there is anything wrong with the Phantom by itself.cheers

Kronos vs TW Acoustic
The Thales Simplicity II tonearm has elevated my TW AC-3 to a new level.  the TW with its very flexible tonearm mounting system is a definate plus point. I would like to hear the Kronus, however the Wave Kinetics NVS table is of more interest and ...
Lyra Atlas experiences
Hi Raulthanks,  That is why I did not mention Linear tracking :-)It is quite amusing that many arguments over different alignment curves like Baer, Loef and Stevenson and what sounds best.  Here we have a tonearm that is proven with maths and sple...
Lyra Atlas experiences
Hi o_holterYes those Southers/Clearaudio's were known to have problems - I thiunk they work a lot better now.  The execution and build quality of Simplicity II is superb - tracks perfectly.  The clarity, directness and stability the tonearm brings...
Lyra Atlas experiences
’This is an easy one for me. The biggest leap in sonic improvement for my Lyra Atlas has been to put a Thales Simplicity II tonearm onto my TW Acustik AC-3. My TW turntable now sounds the best it has ever sounded, even my tube phono stage sounds m...

Furutech Vinyl flattener or the ORB ?
Hi whartYes I do give some albums more than one flatten session.  I generally use the 2 hour timer or the 2.5 hour if it looks a little more dished than normal. some warps which are localised on one area will need a couple of flattens.  I will gen...
Furutech Vinyl flattener or the ORB ?
Yes.  Orb make all record flatteners globally and OEM them to Furutech and Air Tight.I have owned the Orb DF-02 for around 7 years and it has worked flawlessly.  Orb have the DF-03 now, but you may be able to get NOS of the DF-02 on ebay.Buy direc...
Pioneer PLX 1000 noise
That is good its an easy fix.I have a PLX-1000 and its an excellent sounding table and punches was above its relative cheap price.  no issues with mine
What turntable to start out with ? Pioneer PLX-1000 or VPI Nomad
To be very clear if your PLX-1000 has loose tonearm bearing. It takes all of 30 seconds to tighten and fix.Not an issue.
What turntable to start out with ? Pioneer PLX-1000 or VPI Nomad
The PLX-1000 is an excellent sounding turntable , is bulletproof and since its roots are DJ - very easy to move to another apartment/room.  It also pretty well isolated, so no fall issues. Add a nice MM cartridge and you have a wonderful table.
Nude Turntable Project
Hi RichardThe Raven does not have suspension. It does however have OEM Stillpoint feet
Vintage DD turntables. Are we living dangerously?
All VPI DD's are now factory direct and will be personally made by me. HW If its now factory direct, it should be AT LEAST 1/3rd cheaper at 20K since VPI are no longer selling to retailers. Is it now 20K?
