Any Disadvantage Using DVI-HDMI Adapters? Shadorne, I changed projector to one using HDMI; I had an installed DVI-D cable in the wall/ceiling, so I used a couple DVI-D to HDMI adapters to connect the projector and Oppo. Works perfectly.
Any Disadvantage Using DVI-HDMI Adapters? I changed projectors and went to an Oppo 970HD dvd upscaling player. I found that my previously installed DVD cable neeeded an adapter to HDMI. I also obtained it from Monoprice.com and have been thrilled with reslult! Absolutely no issues.
Decoupling monitors from a dresser? How loud do you plan on playing these things if "vibrations" are a concern?! There is another way to go, mounting them on the wall. Of course, you will need to repair the wall prior to leaving or potentially incur loss of renter's deposit. The wal...

What Are They Talking About? Yes, there is a secred code or "audiophile language" which is learned through listening. When they say, "to be powered by the Energizer Bunny," they mean battery powered preamps. If they would have said, "the sound is long lasting, powerful, depen...

Combining different speaker cables for bi-wiring? There can be a surprising degree of difference in sound from one cable manufacturer's product to the next. I have used braided, networked, flat, etc. speaker cables and IC's. It is possible to achieve a very pleasing sound using combinations of ca...

What are your thoughts on hybrid amplifiers? I'm one of about three people in the world who are running twin Pathos Classic One MKII (I believe you can use any of the Classic Ones to do this, but on first version must open up the bottom to switch to mono) tube hybrid integrateds bridged to m...
HDMI to DVI Cable I just upgraded projector from Panasonic PTL-300U (which is only high def compatable) to Panasonic PT-AE900U (which is high def). I'm using a DVI-D cable with DVI-D terminations on both ends. I am using two DVI-D female to HDMI male connectors, pu...
Does the"quality" of jumpers affect the sound? Dave is absolutely right; in systems with enough finesse to reproduce sound delicately the changes between jumpers and wiring is detectable. Just yesterday I replaced the power cord on my Rega Saturn cdp with an MIT Oracle and the difference was e...
