Is D for Dry? Class D... I’d tapped out a couple of replies when this was current the other day, only to see that id been banned temporarily and my posts removed. I don’t see much point in interacting in this kind of debate if the mods are going to delete/ban people for h...
Is D for Dry? Class D... @ozzy62 The fact that you’re calling me out for lack of perspective, when I literally just posted facts means that you don’t understand the technology you’re discussing. Tubes are famous for 2nd order harmonic distortion, it’s literally what tube ...
Raven Blackhawk LE... am I going to be disappointed? You’re the king of unprovable assertions though, Miller. There’s little factual discourse happening ITT.
Raven Blackhawk LE... am I going to be disappointed? “Solid-state pseudo watts” This place is hilarious 😂
Heat from amps? Kinda shocked to hear people say that they have multiple amps idling at 400+ watts and they didn’t notice the temperature change. My Pass X5 idles around 200w and I can notice the room temp change within thirty minutes.
This forum is antiquated. This thread is exactly what I’d have expected after seeing the subject in my email box. Nobody thinks the forum software is trash because they can’t handle change and it was SOTA in the 90’s, just like everyone’s gear here. The rest of the HiFi hob...
Pass Labs X5 I know I’m resurrecting a 13 year old thread, but just felt like I had to correct the assumptions in here for the record, since I own an X5. The X5 idles at 200w and provides 40w x 5 of Class A power per channel before crossing over to AB. It is a...
Townshend Audio F1 Fractal Speaker Cables Oil up yer snakes boys, we’re in for a ride!
Help! Receiver or preamp? Im overwhelmed... Denon X series, if you already have a five channel amp and want to use that in conjunction of the Denon’s preamp out it’ll work great. Just get an X3700 and be done with it. Best performing processor receiver for the money by far.
Audiogon Is Still Relevent...Don't Listen to the Naysayers. @rodman99999 I don’t read or post much here, but I do get the email recaps. This thread subject was basically bait that I couldn’t resist, being so obviously false.
Audiogon Is Still Relevent...Don't Listen to the Naysayers. Can’t agree with OP at all. This place is an audio enthusiast graveyard echo chamber. There are a couple hundred frequent posters, and half of them have a financial interest in influencing the purchasing of the other the rest.
The anachronistic CD Transport? And do I really need one. @ OPThe solution here is simple. Download CDEX to any computer with an optical media drive, and have CDEX rip your CD’s directly to FLAC. The resulting files will sound better through your media server and DAC anyway, so, your welcome. Also just s...
If you stream music from the internet, I can't recommend this more highly The level of misinformation routinely passed around on here is absolutely wild. Optical has measurably more jitter than coax, AES/EBU or USB. Asynchronous USB is still the best method of transmission available today, it’s not even really a contest.
Schiit order issue - anyone receiving shipments? It’s not just them OP, it’s tons of companies buckling under the weight of strained supply chains, employees becoming ill and needing time off, all three major shipping companies being behind/slow. I sent an email about a Modius I ordered like a w...
Is Carl Bernstein an Audiophile? Hey Scott, I’m also from Scottsdale, and also hate this place 😆 |
