Turntable Shoot Out $2000-3000 If the Galibier Sarac is close to its big brother the Gavia this becomes a no brainer. Go with Thom Machris and the Serac
Best Tonearm for Dynavector XV1s I have used the XV1s on both a Schroeder reference SQ and a Triplanar. The XV works very well on both arms. Both are in the 12 gram range Thom mentioned.
Speakers to hang on to for LIFE Acapella High Campaniles.
What Cleaning Machine? With out a doubt the Loricraft
The Cartridgeman Isolater. Nsgarch. I agree with most of your post except to say that Schroeder makes an excellent arm from wood. Also, headshell screws may be tightened and loosened to affect changes in dynamics. I have especially noticed this with the Schroeder arm.
SET Amps and Maggies Check out Paul Speltz and his Autoformer. Works well.
The best speaker you ever heard? Acapella High Campanile.
Best Cartridge for Rega RB 300 and RB1000 ? I have had very good luck with Van Den Hul. The effective mass is perfect fit for VDH as well as many others. The RB100 has an effective mass of ten.
Preamp Deal of the Century Ray, I run stats so the extra power of the Monduese is needed. Needless to say I am excited about these amps. Slowhand, I also went with the black Grange. I am now very happy I did. I had been looking into the Berning and Walcott amps for my stats...
Preamp Deal of the Century I just sent a deposit on a set of Monduese amps. I am an OTL fan but I have to try Mick's amps with my Grange. I am hoping the combination is special.
Preamp Deal of the Century I have had exactly the same experiences with Mick and Thom Mackris. Both are totally accessible and a pleasure to deal with. Thom's table with the Grange phono stage is very special.
Anybody heard Galibier or JC Verdier turntables? I own a Galibier table with the new graphite interface platter. I have not owned a PV but have been able to hear one on several occasions. Unfortunately, those listening sessions occured in rooms with poor acoustics.I agree with Salectric and Doug...
Preamp Deal of the Century No response for a while. I guess everyone is sitting back and enjoying their Supratek preamps. I just upgraded to a Grange and am very pleased. If anyone is interested in my 6 mo. old Cortese Signature please let me know. Black and chrome.
best preamp ever - cost is no object I would have to say the Supratek Grange.
Speaker recommendations in the $3,500-$4,000 range Electrostats!!! |
