Lehmann PWX blown fuse - what amperage replacement
Good one Slappy! Almost as funny as the response I got from the kid working at Radio Shack when he asked what the fuse was going into. "A phono stage for my turntable. Actually it's the power supply for the phono stage" I said. The kid then replie...

Revel Salons - Do they really sound like this?
Have you been to that dealer before and are you aware of their set up and demo capabilities? Unfortunately there are lots of dealers who do not take the time to carefully set up and match their systems. I would blame your less than impressive demo...
Revel Studio Discussion- Everything Studio Here
Just heard a pair of Studio's last weekend and thought they were amazing. Almost laughably better than everything else I heard that day. They were set up in a large HT room driven by all Lexicon electronics and the salesman gave me a funny look wh...
My VPI Scout has arrived
Anyone running a Dynavector or Benz cart on their Scout? If so which one and if you moved up in that line what benefits did you get?Like Dmcneilly's post above I'm looking a getting a new cartridge for my Scout and seem to keep coming back to a DV...
Looking for some sax sp music
I believe it's Paul Desmond who plays sax with the Dave Brubeck quartet. I started listening to Brubeck but it's really Desmond who steals the show if you ask me.
Whats on your turntable tonight?
Pink Floyd's The Wall, 30th Anniversary Edition. I just picked it up today. On a side note the guy at the store said a Metallica box set is coming out soon on vinyl...sweet!
CD's for auditioning
I second the Dire Straits, Diana Krall stuff for critical evaluations. Probably just because I like that stuff and know the songs so well but also since piano and vocals are harder to get right. Other than that any unamplified performances you kno...
Arcam A85 / EPOS ESL3's sounding too Bright
Have not heard the Epos, but I know the Arcam stuff. Have the speakers been fully broken in? What about speaker location and your position relative to speakers? Could be the room too.
which monoblock
This is not a mono block option but you could run a Pass X150 with a Pass X3. Never heard Pass amps in a HT set up before though. Honestly I have a hard time picturing these amps in a HT system. Probably other options out there that may be more co...
tonearm/cartridge set up question
Thanks for all the tips. I ended up looking more closely at the stylus rather than the cartridge body, which was a bit off. I then tried the twisting of the tonearm cable. I settled with a single twist of the cable and a slight offset in the count...
What readily available LP's should I consider
The mobile fidelity sound lab catalog would be a good place to start.
Von Schweikert "rear ambiance driver" revisited
The front end of my room is pretty heavily treated and my VR2s are about 5 feet out from the wall. I settled in at 3.5 for the rear tweeter level on my VR2s. I feel it adds plausible depth to the soundstage and helps the speakers to "dissappear" a...
Which of these would you buy?
I certainly would not call the Vandy 3s forward, especially with tubes driving them...but they would most likely be the most musical in my opinion.
