shubert, It is indeed ironic that you would acutely sense popular indifference toward another's opinions (be it true or not) but are completely oblivious to the same toward your own.Dave
Help with a new Tube headphone amp blowing fuses
Hey shubert,C'mon down to Texas and learn some manners. Even you might be redeemable, but no guarantees.Just don’t burn any American flags while you are here.Dave
Audiophile help wanted
Have you or your entrepreneur friend compared your product’s functionality to Aurender products, specifically their A10 which contains a DAC also? Aurenders store, render, AND stream using an iPad and their excellent custom "Tidal-like" App. Build...
Appropriate Power for 1.7i's
Careful, Mark. Many years ago I had the Carver TFM-35 when I bought a new pair of Apogee Stages. The dealer said the amp would work fine with the Stages. It did not. Within five minutes of warm up at low volume with the new Stages the Carver dumpe...
Has Rel fallen out of favor with audiophiles?
shadorne,I think Arte’s recent post quoting the REL setup guide exactly reflects my personal experience, ie the REL is a "sub-bass system designed to augment the performance of full-range speaker systems ...".In my room, my speakers do not need tr...

You suspect wrong as usual shadorne. The strong positive response to REL on this thread once again obviates your delusive opinions on audio.Dave
VD Nite power cord - forward or laid back perspective?
+1 on the Triode Wire Labs Digital American PC. Have had one on my DAC for a couple weeks now. Least expensive PC I have in my main system and it hangs in with the big boys. A steal at $500.Dave

Hi m-db,Your findings re: the adjustment of the REL mirrors mine to a large degree. Since I am also using full-range speakers, I set the crossover knobs to their lowest setting and the gain relatively low too. I found best integration when setting...
WHAT HAS WORKED FOR YOU? ISOLATION PLATFORMS, FOOTERS, ETC. for a DAC?
Right Geoff. I use vibration damping material inside the chassis and stick-on wheel weights on transports/CD players to good effect. There seems to always be room for improvement in this area. Dave
WHAT HAS WORKED FOR YOU? ISOLATION PLATFORMS, FOOTERS, ETC. for a DAC?
Hi David,You are moving in the right direction IMO. "Soft" footers "cushion" the component from external vibration from the floor/rack but also trap internal vibrations inside the component (isolators vs conductors).Symposium Acoustics system of c...
Anyone spend more on their system than their car?
"I sure hope so."jafant, did your "Thiel only" system cost more than your truck?
Has Rel fallen out of favor with audiophiles?
My Thiel CS5i’s easily play well above 95db without distorting, shadorne, and they are not stuck in wall cabinets so they actually do soundstaging too. Your opinions here, as always, are way off the mark.Dave
