Upstream Bottlenecks, Experience, Opinions, Meitner Dac
It is important to understand the streaming capabilities and source input differences specific to the MA3. The internal streaming circuitry is the same as EMM LAB’s $5k NS1 stand-alone streamer. I would think (hope?) that means the MA3’s streaming...
Upstream Bottlenecks, Experience, Opinions, Meitner Dac
@bigwave1 I also own the MA3 and totally agree with @delm. Start with using the internal streamer connected to your router via Ethernet cable. The included  MConnect app’s user interface is bare bones but sounds great when streaming Tidal and Qobu...
DAC comparison
DACs have come a long way in the last couple years. No longer is it necessary to trade off detail/resolution for naturalness/musicality or vise versa. I recently picked up a Meitner MA3 that I feel does a superb job at both: https://parttimeaudiop...
MM, MC, or MI cartridge
Hmmm, very different advice among contributors here. Who should the OP give credence to? My money is on the vinyl veterans like @lewm and @rauliruegas (and of course @mikelavigne if you can play at his level), yet use extreme caution when consider...
Cube Audio Nenuphar Single Driver Speaker (10 inch) TQWT Enclosure
Stumbled on this mini-review of the Nenuphar and I don’t believe it has been posted here yet. I find it to be the best description of their sound character I have seen:   https://eastendhifi.com/cube-audio-nenuphar-speakers-a-desert-island-speak...
From separate streamer and DAC to al-in-one suggestion
Looks like the Meitner MA3 is creating a buzz here. As is often the case, it is accompanied by some disinformation as well. Prior to the release of the MA3, EMM Labs released a major upgrade (known as “V2”) to the DA2, DV2, and DAC2X and provided ...
Preamp Deal of the Century
@skypop, I just received an early-vintage Syrah (line stage only) and is it superb. I don’t know if the Cortese is your first Supratek preamp, but if so you are in for a sonic realignment of what you thought was possible from a preamp.
Midwoofer+Tweeter vs Wide band
@mozartfan Several of your comments in your last post puzzle me. Obviously you know the sound and the limitations of the speakers you own, but not of those that you have not heard. I feel sure that the extensive innovation during development of th...
Midwoofer+Tweeter vs Wide band
@mozartfan ”I've never heard a wide range driver alone, Chinese or not, that played the frequency extremes in a realistic manner.” Check out Cube Audio Nenuphar V2 or Jazzon. True single driver loudspeakers  with no crossover. Pretty amazing bass...
Which DACs are known to be sweet/rich/relaxed?
@robert1976 My apologies for missing that key post. Obviously my skimming skills are lacking. Glad that you found a solution. Enjoy!
Which DACs are known to be sweet/rich/relaxed?
@robert1976 After skimming through all the responses thus far I reread your original post. Seems you are happy with the sound quality of your current componentry on the majority of musical content, excepting poorly recorded/mastered rock (ie RHCP)...
Amp Options - Infinity Kappa 9s
There is a Classe Audio DR-9 on USAudiomart right now that would be perfect for your Kappa 9s. I have used this exact combo in the past and it is quite good. The DR-9 won’t even break a sweat…
Denafrips Athena- is damn good
@roxy54 I think he may have meant to say “I’m drunk” instead of “Im dink”
powercell uef se vs galileo sx
Hard to say what is happening there. It would be interesting to see the results of other respected audio power conditioners…
