A Tough Question
Corona, Only if they wanted to, regardless of ruined designs. I suggest you try reading my post again. To better understand, since my point may not have been saliant. Maybe you will see that pointing out "cost is an issue" is superfluos at best.Yo...
A Tough Question
Nrchy I firmly disagree. While I do agree complex sytems require both time and money to maintain, if you so desire. Its my TIME and my MONEY, and I can just as easily let the system fall into disorder, sell, or anything else I wish.Clearly expendi...
Contemplating other amps
Thats great Arthur, you are so right, ultimately its your ears. I am happy you found an amp and a very nice one at that. I bet a room full of Nautili and that monster amp can really jam. The voltage/current selection is great, I love to tweak and ...
A Tough Question
Without question, I OWN THE POWER CORDS. All mine. Thats where I stand. But being Signalcable power cords, they are only semiprecious, since they didnt cost a ton.I agree it is somewhat disturbing that "Fight Club" is providing a foundation for in...
Which Pre/Pro regardless of $$$
Keithr...Only a few direct comparisons. I admit that I decided previously, on a one box solution. I feel that we will better serve Capnizzy by keeping our discussions to Processors. But to satisfy your curiosity, Adcom, Conrad Johnson, Bryston, B ...
A Tough Question
Ohhh good grief. Its mine. All mine. My precious. PRECIOUUUSSssss.
Two different cable pairs from amp into speakers
I think, if I read correctly, that Jim has two sets of Bi-wire cables, and since one is all spades and the other is all bananas, he wants to run 4 spades and 4 bananas at each speaker. To gain the benefits of each cable. One on top of the other so...
Unequal cable lengths for home theater????
Shaqspack, I really dont want to be the picky one here but.....Ideally electricity moves at the speed of light. However this speed is only constant in a vacuum. Speaker wire isnt a vacuum, so its speed would be relative to its properties.Furthermor...
Which Pre/Pro regardless of $$$
Capnizzy, 2 channel was my main consideration. I only heard the HTS 7.1 instore. Clearly not the best place for a comparison. It was out of my price range as well. I set a limit at at about $3750.00 for a new unit. (The Bryston was 3500.00 Shipped...
Problems with Movie Dialog-Just the normal?
I would try setting the center only, at the 120hz cutoff point. If the processor has a steep Xover, say 24db/octave, the your "midbass hump" may not be effected. But, if it is a gentle slope, say 12db/octave, then midbass will be effective reduced...
modified jolida 100, mh cd-25, or audio aero prima
I have been playing it about 24 hours straight and it sounds great, a little flabby in the bass, but very very sweet and seductive mids, especially female vocals. Strings seem to be strummed instead of just vibrating, I can actually here the pic c...
Problems with Movie Dialog-Just the normal?
If the center crossover/size is set to SMALL and Midbass is overpowering vocals, then I might suggest change the speaker itself. Maybe get your dealer to let you home evaluate a different type or brand. If the same problem persist then it is logic...
Which Pre/Pro regardless of $$$
I compared many pre/pros before settling on the Bryston. It easily beat Krell(showcase), Rotel(1066), Integra(RD7 I think), B & K (Ref30 and 50), Sunfire(TG3), and Acurus. The Classe SSP-30 was very close. My decision was based on 2 channel pe...
modified jolida 100, mh cd-25, or audio aero prima
My Jolida arrived today. I had to leave the room to keep dry eyes. This player sounds great right out of the box. I changed the tubes from stock to EH 12ax7, damped the chassis, and placed Vibrapods under the feet. As I said, Loreena Mckinnett jus...
1s are 1s, 0s are 0s, right?
What about comparing a low dollar laser/pickup to a high dollar one. Would there not be a few 1s and 0s lost here and there? Or misinterpreted somehow?I didnt mention DACs as thats too obvious, in my comparisons the Speakers, Amps, Preamps, Cables...
