Buying from Parts Connexion They are an excellent company. Have many parts, kits etc.
Listening Descriptor Chart Thank you. I was hoping something like this would surface!
So where should the tubes be? I agree tubes everywhere. But if your starting and want to wet your feet before you commit, phono pre, dac, preamp first, amp last. IMO
How important is it to have identical speaker cable length? I say do what you need to do and enjoy the music.
surround processor? Look into a McIntosh av processor to start and as you move up your two channel game you can add a two channel preamp and use the home theater bypass option. I use an mx 120 for av and switch over to a c2300 tube pre for two channel. Great flexibil...
What is wrong with my system? Nothing there to smooth things out. Perhaps some variation in component style. More warmth.
Time to upgrade my turntable? Look at a new cartridge, cable or phono pre first.
New cables - To judge now or after burn in period? They should sound good to you new. As they break-in, they will sound better. If they don’t sound good out of the box I find one that does . I’m partial to siltech. Nice cables. I’m now into nordost. Even better.
How are most audiophiles going from streamers to DACS Coax
replace Mcintosh with Luxman Buy American!
Cartridge leads? I’m talking about the pins on the cartridge
Cartridge leads? Since we’re on the subject, I’m having unequal level on one of my turntables. Could this be a result of reversing the grounds on each of the channels, or does that matter. Also if it does, what would that do?
Should we pay more attention to delays in sound? That’s why I love Tannoy speakers. It’s all right there.
So damn hard deciding which tube preamp to buy! McIntosh, vintage mx 110z, current c2300 or better. Fabulous preamps
ORANGE Fuse rejected Audiomagic for me. Sounds great in either direction. |
