Could someone with a Garrard 401 Measure for me... If you have a Garrard 401 why not do it yourself? Really? You have time for this kind of post? Did you not take a moment to think that maybe the plinth is being built and I don't actually the 401 with me?
Low Frequency Rumble from TT between songs Thanks. Of course I have now sold it. Decided to start a Garrard project 401 and get the heck out of the VPI universe.
Which arms share the Rega Geometry? It's a long story but I bought a new arm, it didn't fit so I traded it for another arm, drilled it out for 222mm PTS and then that arm didn't fit because I'm an idiot and didn't read the specs properly. Now I have to wait month for a table to be d...
Which arms share the Rega Geometry? You’re willing to spend money on a new arm, but balk at the price of a new armboard?! I’m looking for an easy drop in temporary solution while my new table is being built. Then when I sell the table, the arm goes with it.

What are some high impedance cartridges? I'd be more inclined to switch SUT and look for low impedance carts ;) You’re right of course. Looking for a shortcut though just to play around with different carts…
What are some high impedance cartridges? I know that Auditorium 23 SUTs are specifically made for either low impedance cartridges (Ortofon or instance) or high impedance (Denon).
Low Frequency Rumble from TT between songs Accurate to what, though? What you think an instrument sounds like in a vacuum or what you think an instrument sounds live or what I hear when an instrument is actually recording in the studio? Or some other measure? You seem to describing an abso...
Low Frequency Rumble from TT between songs It left me missing air and walls. As someone who often records live instruments tangential to the music industry, the 300B comes closest to recreating the instrument AND the room that the music is being played in, which makes for more accurate rep...
Advice for mounting a TT shelf on a wall Mount it away from the corners of the room. This is a must to consider because of low frequency feedback. A corner can be a bass trap. This happened with my wall shelf and it was a pain to get rid of.
Low Frequency Rumble from TT between songs Just to follow up, the issue was isolation. I was able to get rid of the noise completely with a set of MNPCtech feet and some small rollerblocks under the motor pod. Also the First Watt is not as pleasing as a SET amp, no way. It does a lot of ...
Low Frequency Rumble from TT between songs I had the same thought about microphonic tubes but I swapped in a whole new tube set and no change. I should borrow another tube amp just to test that as well although I'm pretty excited about the First Watt SIT-3 I just bought.
Low Frequency Rumble from TT between songs Just to follow up in case anyone is interested. The low frequency rumble is being picked up by the SET amp I'm using. It's in a weird bass trap spot. It goes away when I swap amps to SS. I'm plugging in a subsonic filter tomorrow to see if that he... |
