Maybe someone can enlighten me.
I don't freak out when someone brings up something automotive, or sports related, or their favorite whisky, but for some reason politics is the third rail. @hifiguy42  The reason politics became a problem here was a dynamic tag team of users w...
Case in point: a $90,000 power cord by ASUNZ
@westcoastaudiophile  I've suggested that before: solder 10/2 wire directly to the amps' power supplies and run it straight to the electrical panel. No power cables, no wall receptacles, just two solid, uninterrupted runs of 10/2 all the way to t...

@craigvinet  You made the right choice, there's no such thing as too much power.

Well, there’s no doubt that the guidelines are poorly written, even if no one normally reads them. There’s also no doubt, in my mind at least, that the moderator made the right call deleting OP’s post. Granted his post made no overt political stat...

@mdalton  You can’t have your cake and eat it too, right? Oh, I disagree with that! 😂 Meanwhile, your post prompted me to look up Audiogon forum rules. Here they are in their entirety: Guidelines Goals of these discussions Discuss the aud...

@mdalton  You make a good point about there not being clear guidelines. However, the way I look at it, rules are living documents that evolve with cultural mores. Maybe in the past passing political remarks were not a problem, so they were allowe...

@hce1  @kerrybh  Good posts, but you guys leave out the most important point, which is not so much the cost of the object as the claims to sound quality.  In other words, anyone should be free to spend, say, $8,000 on a couple of Ethernet cable...

OP did not specify he was looking for cheap / grotesque rock n' roll speakers?
Anyone here still rocks a DAT deck?
I am also realizing that, despite being a tape-based format, DAT is probably more aptly compared to CD than to cassette or reel-to-reel
Anyone here still rocks a DAT deck?
Looks like DATs were capable of 16/48 resolution, a little better than Redbook CD. So in terms of sound quality, they should be at least equal to CD, assuming equal quality DACs. I didn't know that many albums were available on pre-recorded DAT t...
Is Burmester 232 worth the price?
@madhusudan_ramaswamy We stopped saying Japs sometime in the 80s, but there you are in 2025 using what is now widely considered a racial slur. And, sadly, you're impervious to sarcasm

Remarkably, no one has asked OP what music he likes to listen to, how loud, or even whether this is a home theater situation.
Maybe someone can enlighten me.
Sorry @secretguy I empathize with your position but I'm going to have to agree with the moderator. This just isn't the place.
Six DAC Comparison
@fuzzbutt17  I have a question that’s been bugging me for a long time, and I would love to hear your perspective as a manufacturer of well-regarded, high-end digital components. Input choices on 99% of DACs out there boil down to AES/EBU, coax, ...
