Who R U?
Hi Doug, haven't seen you around for a while. Great to see you like LL as well. How is your hotrodded lawn mower?! Cheers!
For those that recently contacted me....
Sean, what a way to start the New Year! I feel for you. I must say now, That I've been extraordinarily lucky. XP only threw out my DVD movie player on my Dell and left the rest intact. I'm sure that I also speak for the rest here at A. in hoping t...
How does one get off the merry-go-round?
Tubegroover, isn't happyness the main thing? And the drive for perfection is a noble endevour, is it not? And if we do not make our loved ones unhappy or harm them with what we are doing, why shouldn't we? Mind you, and I've been at it for over 35...
Audio tip for aging male audiophiles
Yes, Marakanetz, but I will sell it only with the accessory mentioned above in my post. It will do everything Mes and I have mentioned to your system if properly applied.
Audio tip for aging male audiophiles
Vibrapods worked fine for me, until by chance I found out, that resting my head on my lady's busom, helped to get a better defined low end.
Who R U?
Grandpad, here is another old fart, ten years your senior in fact, to welcome you, not as graceously as cfb was able to, however just as heartfelt. I went through the same as you did, only thankfully her suffering was just a few months. I also fou...
How does one get off the merry-go-round?
Trebleclef, we must be brothers in arms! The Quads are the centre of my system as well, I hunt after good music on Lp and CD, I'm having fun and in the course of the years, to borrow a phrase of Sean's, have turned from audiophile to music lover. ...
New Virus starting to run wild
Sean, as usual you make sense. It IS slower, both versions of it, but then its only cars and transients I really like fast. (-: Detlof
New Virus starting to run wild
Testing XP right now, the Prof and the home version. Seem more stable than any other forms of Windows I had. Maybe puters are like stereo. So many opinions as there are systems.
Has anyone else ever reached an audio impasse?
bwhite, I must underwrite everything cfb has said and wish to thank you myself for all your followups. I've learnt a lot from the unfolding story and am personally glad than all is now well
Has anyone else ever reached an audio impasse?
Look, I don't mean this as a joke at all: But when did he last have his hearing checked and his ears cleared out? I've had this happen to an audiophile collegue, whose ears had truly clogged up. Well, I thought of bringing this up, though improbab...
The most important piece in a stereo system???
In a sense, everyone above to me seems to have a good point. But basically its the weakest link, isn't it and finding it will make all the difference. Apart from that, although I very much agree with what RCprince has pointed out, to my experience...
Best Recordings
Good points all above,I'd like to add the Dire Straights and anything that Knopfler recorded later!
GAS Thoebe preamp: Stereo push buttons?
If I remember right, Stereo A feeds that channel to both sides in mono mode and Stereo B the other channel. I am not 100% sure, it is now more than 25 years ago, that I tried one. But its easy to find out: Just unplug the input to your left or rig...
my room sounds dead
Sorry, Audiotomb, but to my knowledge, contrary to most other speakers, moving DIPOLES closer to the wall, will make the sound even more dead.
