More Dynamic Speakers Than Vienna Acoustic IMO your'e either looking at Klipsch or Zu. Your setup screams for high efficiency speakers. As often for most of us, getting what you want within a price point is the rub. Zu Soul Supremes probably fit your system but they rarely show up for sale...
Anyone else grateful that they got hooked on this crazy addiction Music, for me and I'm sure many others on here, is absolutely in a class all by itself in it's ability to take us to another place. With other media nowadays doing nothing but attempting to brainwash us, the option to pick our own form of entertai...
More Dynamic Speakers Than Vienna Acoustic The new Perfect Set speaker from Tekton looks interesting. $1800
Supratek..Cabernet 6SN7 or Cabernet DHT Mick says he prefers the 6SN7 model, so that's what I purchased. If you get the DHT model have them ship it to me and I will break it in for you.
Separates or Integrated? What makes more sense? The technology may well be there to keep the noise floor down with an integrated and don’t think one can assume a superior sound with separates.Thinking here that a separate power supply for the integrated would certainly have advantages. I will s...
Separates or Integrated? What makes more sense? Not to say there aren't some really nice integrated amps out there but in my present system my power supplies for the preamp and phono pre are separate. The makers of these probably wouldn't go to this trouble if it weren't a step up. I mean I gue...
REL Subwoofer. Your input requested Also have a pair of 212SE subs. Haven't quite dialed them in but getting closer. Have speakers with down firing subs in their base so in essence have 4 subs. The RELs have increased my enjoyment of my system. Can't compare them as they are my firs...
Suspended cables I likely won't be spending thousands on cabling, but to say there are no differences, no improvements to be had is in my opinion not very open minded. I can A-B compare a set of power cables with another that I have on hand and tell 100% of the ti...
Chemically Altered Audio Since it's along these lines does anyone think these coatings are similar to the PPT products? I don't really know how commercially successful those products were but if they were, the field is wide open.
Frustrated with Vinly I will say from experience that the right phono preamp and cartridge has reduced clicks and pops significantly. I switched to a slightly higher output cart and somewhat lower gain from the phono pre. I wasn't really looking for the quieter result ...
Help in putting together my system with used equipment on Audiogon and eBay. You may as well forget the 8K budget. Go ahead and double that and you MIGHT be able to stay under. Good sound leads to a thirst for great sound. Six years ago I got in at 15K used, but vinyl was a must.To save money without sacrificing sound qual...
Who else here is frugal? I comb these pages and the auction sites/classifieds for equipment I may want while attempting to make good choices. Have neither the time or inclination for diy. Many times I've waited for long periods to see a bargain for what I'm interested in....
Inner groove distortion solved! Funny you should mention. Big Terry and Hans fan here. Live and Let Live with Terry and Bobby King has Ry playing throughout. Great Album.
Advantages of owning equipment from major audio brands vs. boutique shops? I have always picked equipment that has a reputation of great service to go along with a great product. You will hear stories here that are both glowing and much less so. So far for me the boutique route has led to service over and above. Zu, Audi...
More questions about dedicated lines I jumped from the main panel to an Equi+Tech wall unit. From there to dedicated lines, but bought the panel used from Oak Ridge. Sounds pretty good. |
