32 pairs of speaker and RCA cables measured and listened to
I've been receiving gobs of PM's about the cassette hoard, but have yet to receive a recommendation on interconnects (1 meter is fine). Listening to Leon Redbone "On the Track" right now and next up are... -Euro Disco Volume 3 -Dr. Demento  "Th...
32 pairs of speaker and RCA cables measured and listened to
I just connected a Kenwood KX-W594 cassette deck (found abandoned on our street apron 5-6 years ago) to the Sharp SD-EX111 mini system we use @ the computer. The reason being that my wife found a large box of her old cassette’s buried in the spar...
One Example Please
Older post on this subject still stands (though I have added bootleg recordings of the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile since then). Sorry - more than one.     5,456 posts 05-09-2020 at 09:20am Not weird is an 1980’s box set of Fred Astaire recordi...
Has anyone upgraded the crossovers on Spatial Hologram M4 series loudspeakers?
OT: Here's good read on placement (different tweeter than your model) which may help you accomplish your goal. https://positive-feedback.com/reviews/hardware-reviews/spatial-audio-hologram-m4-triode-master-loudspeakers/   DeKay
Amplifier Power tubes - important to sound?
I'm looking forward to pic's of all these fine tubes you intend on purchasing - maybe even throw in a pic of your setup/room?   DeKay
Want to build a rack with sandwich layered dampening

Want to build a rack with sandwich layered dampening
If your components are not heavy weights an inexpensive alternative would be to try a low light/rigid table. If you have Ikea in your area look specifically @ their "LacK" tables which come in many different sizes. Some of the shallow "TV" table...

Source for Garrard 301 plinth (and other 301 questions)
Here's a good DIY (301 plinth) thread. There is also a "how to" article with pics @ Stereophile online. I could make that one with less/simpler tools than those in the article (drill/hand held scroll saw/flat-round wood file and sand paper). ht...
Amp for Vintage Heresy
Add a sub (or subs) or try an amp with a very low damping factor. If the speaker cables are 12’ (or less) try single runs of 22-26 gauge solid core copper wire as speaker cables (doing so should bloom the bass a bit). On the cheap try basic copp...
Do different speaker stands can really make a big sound improvement?
Either purchase open top skeletal stands (like Harbeth rec's) or raise the speakers from solid top stands with something "like" the tenons depicted in the above post. Four smaller points of hard contact instead of placing the bottom of the speake...
Why no pics on A’gon Forum?
Thanks for the info Elliott.   DeKay
It Pegged the Needle on My "BS Meter". Now, I'm A Believer. Ever Happen to You?
I don't recall the "Sound Rings" but did experiment with the PWB Rainbow Foil. After placing it on a few CD's with mixed results (some good) I ended up placing 3 squares of the foil on a few CD Stat-Mats (a commercial CD add on mat that did offer...
Why no pics on A’gon Forum?
I'm not computer savvy, so don't know how to "size" images, but here's a go from the only pic I have with my A'Gon system (something my wife had stored on the computer with other cat pics). My moniker pic is from the same batch (his name is Chick...
Does anyone know what's up with vinylengine.com?
Just tried and my moniker/password are not recognized.    It's been a year (or 2) since I last logged in.   DeKay
