Speaker Cable Matching.
Thanks for the input Redkiwi. Yes, the decay in that range is a bit too short with my Kimber cables, we are probably talking milliseconds, but it is audible. I probably should not mention this but I just took a look at the MIT Term 2 cables that a...

RedKiwi: The amps are a Musical Fidelity X-A1 intergrated and a Musical Fidelity AS-100 X series power amp. I cannot place the equipment near the speakers for the time being, but would like to remedy this in the future (hopefully next summer if th...
Beautiful Speakers
Gallo Acoustics Nucleus Reference's or better yet the Solo's. Round metal spheres on angular tubular stands. I am usually not fond of using industrial style inside my home but feel that these would be an exception. You can view these discontinued ...
Speaker Cable Matching.
Please, a little help with this one. Is mixing cables OK for LF and HF's? I will need to purchase this week as I would like this setup broken in and running by the 21st when my stepdaughter arrives for a visit. Thanks.
Speaker Placement/new component
Yes, I second HWY in that you should familiarize yourself with the new sound "before" you experiment with speaker position. Otherwise there are too many vaiables to deal with at once (for me anyway). Also,if you have to power down components when ...
Speaker Placement/new component
Yes, I always tweak speaker placement after changing something that makes a difference in the sound. I have had better results doing so and the change in position "can" be as little as a 1/2 an inch or a few degrees of tow in.
CDP isolation options for improved HF?
Subaruguru: I do not disagree with any of the suggestions in this tread, but you have to start somewhere. The manner in which I use the Vibrapods is as follows from top to bottom. The CD player with its stock feet resting on a 3/4" thick MDF platf...
The fallacy of ac treatment
Whatjg: No pain - no gain. We should probably add a disclaimer as well. "Do not try pins in the power cord yourself at home, ask for a store demo by a qualified professional."
Shelf Material
Redkiwi: If you try hanging or suspending a component, please post your results. I just realized that in my setup I would have to include small line tighteners in order to level the platforms. Can't think of a better way.
The fallacy of ac treatment
I trust Voudou, I'm just out of practice.
Silver cables - Great price!!
Gallaine: Do you have the opportunity to do critical listening - say after midnight? My system still sounds a lot better/smoother in the late/early hours with or without my cheap Monster HTS2000. This is something that I need to address before I s...
Shelf Material
Interesting post Onhwy61. I have never thought of hanging/suspending components other than speakers (which I have done in the past with good results. I am in a postition to try this on my CD source and amplifier(s) that are in an enclosed piece of...
DSP Devices for Room/Speaker Correction
Jayboard: I get it, and it's never to late - very funny.
CDP isolation options for improved HF?
I 3rd the use of Vibrapods which I use on my CD player under an MDF platform, with great results. I also have two wheelbarrow intertubes (smaller than the bike tubes) that I use under our mini system (two box unit) in our bedroom. I don't know if ...
Favorite Romantic Female Vocal Song(s)?
Claudine Longet, not the best by any means but very romantic. Also "Miss" Peggy Lee "Riders in the Sky" that's "Ghost Riders", good for a cowboy fantasy. Different strokes for different folks.
