Greatest Guitar Band
Mikec: If you have not yet, check out the Cowboy Junkies. They will change your mind about one new band, theirs anyway. The one thing that I find missing in most modern popular songs is the guitar solo. Where is it?
CAL Audio or other CD/DVD players
Hi Scott: I own the CAL Icon Mk II and have been very happy with it. I place it on a sheet of MDF over Vibrapods and have also switched the power cord to a Harmonic Tech. Pro 11. These additions cost another $150.00 but were worth it to me. It has...
Greatest Guitar Band
Thanks Mikec: Little Wing is one of my favorite's done by JH. The only time that I have heard SRV was on a TV special that showed concert footage a couple years back, and I was very impressed. He did a Hendrix tune then but I think that it was dif...
Mapleshade versus Stealth
Come on Carl. Where is your sense of adventure? Let's hear about the Stealth cables, pretty please. LOL.
Will a DAC mellow Denon DCM 360
Thanks Ehider. Very interesting. Didn't an industry publication follow up on the findings of your gruop? Seems like I read that somewhere, maybe at AA.
Help me find a smooth solid-state amp?
Djjp: Sorry I typed 500 and meant 300 hours above. Still quite a long time, though my little Castles took around 200 or so being played at lower levels.
Know of a "Dirt Cheap" tweak?
How about, not humming along improves perceived detail then?
Know of a "Dirt Cheap" tweak?
Khrys: Yawning (shortly thereafter) adds detail.
Greatest Guitar Band
Garfish: Since you mentioned the Thunderbirds, I may as well through in the Fab. Rhinestones, Electric Flag and (barf) Spooky Tooth. I have never really listened to SRV and wonder if he ever did a cover of the song "Trouble"? I searched the record...
Greatest Guitar Band
Wsmatau: Sorry, no I do not. I just happened to see it one Sunday evening when I was a teenager. It was not pleasant to watch as Chet was somewhat hurt and embarrassed. I suspect that if there was any kind of a rehearsal, that Clapton held back a ...
Help me find a smooth solid-state amp?
Nice speakers, IMO. I auditioned them twice and almost purchased them. I listened to them with ARC tube gear and a Classe integrated. They sounded better with tubes, but still great with the Classe. They also require, beleive it or not, around 500...
Shopping CD players: my big adventure
Swampwalker: After recent gear purchases my hi-fi budget for a changer is around $150.00. That is what makes the Aiwa "really" attractive. LOL. The $150.00 was originaly set aside for a used PC upgrade for my CAL Icon II as I am going to steal the...
Greatest Guitar Band
Yup, Duane. All blondes look alike to me.
Perpetual Techs P1A DESIGN FLOOR!
Hi Ken: Still have not hooked it up and am waiting on my digital cable that had to be made up. I just upgraded the shipping to Fed Ex one day yesterday as I am getting a little antsy and would like to avoid dropping more money on a locally purchas...
Perpetual Techs P1A DESIGN FLOOR!
There is more info on the DAC at Audio Asylum Digital Forum. If the whole package (with power supply and room corrction at around $2000.00) works "well" eventually with the room correction software that is forthcoming I guess that it would be cons...
