Sony 777es ok to leave on?
Bmpnyc: Does it get hot? None of the players that I own (and have owned) generate much heat at all (it's hard to feel it at all).

Cardas Caps Worthwhile?
I use small rounds of kitchen tin foil on the back of my Musical Fidelity amp (which fall off if you fuss around too much), for dust and air grunge protection. I wouldn't mind having the Cardas Caps instead, but am too cheap.
The most beautiful Integrated Tube amp?
The Pathos Twin and also the SET amps that are in the shape of and "X" or "cross" (take your pick), but I cannot remember the name of the manufacturer (very unusual though).
Which Rack Is Better?
I have an update on the equipment rack that I am now using. Audio Advisor finally responded (following my 3rd email which was rather threatening). They would not replace the faulty parts due to the sale being older than 30 days old (even though th...
Cd storage..what's an audiophile to do?
Mezmo: I have been looking for a way to store CD's that will be burned from our old cassette collection (and isolate them from the rest of the CD's as well). I assume that these things look like books and can be placed on a bookshelf and will look...
Software to give woofers a work-out
That was really base of you Glen.
Last horrah before baby comes?
Go out with your spouse and have a nice dinner with the $200.
Cd storage..what's an audiophile to do?
I use a Tansu cabinet in the living room. It has five drawers that are suitable for CD's (on end) and will hold approx. 250 CD's per drawer. I place a length of wood in the bottom/back of each drawer so that the CD's do not extend to the very back...
Best Male Singers of the 20th Century
Mario Lanza! I picked up the soundtrack from "Caruso" recently and forgot to give it a play. Thanks for reminding me.
Best CD of Diana Krall??
Yes, Paul, I sit corrected. Her head is what I see in my mind's eye as being that big. I have to work hard not to confuse it with the clown heads from "Killer Clowns from Outerspace". Hope that you do not have this obstacle to overcome as well, it...
Sakura Systems OTA Cable Kit
Kitch, good, you just saved me a bundle (even on a 30 day basis). Are they the new "improved" version of the Mapleshade speaker cables (plus $70) or the standard version? The OTA IC's have definately replaced my Homegrown Super Silver IC's in the ...
Sakura Systems OTA Cable Kit
Kitch: I will be very interested in your take on the OTA Vs the Mapleshade. Did you order the speaker cable, IC's or just the jumpers? I will post on the OTA in another week and I use the Mapleshade Double Helix digital IC between the Bel Canto DA...
Best Bookshelf System for a Bookshelf
Three bookshelf speakers that work quite well on "bookshelves" are the Linn Kan, Castle Acoustics Isis (discontinued and hard to find) and the Castle Acoustics Richmond (which can often be found discounted in the USA for under $350 from its $500 r...
Best CD of Diana Krall??
Hi Ken: I watched the same performance and base my opinion of her mike and other skills on it. I only have one CD of her now (gave the rest to my parents), but understand what everyone is saying about the mix's themselves (on many of the tunes). W...
