Interesting British Mag Ebarker: I cannot bring up the website. Is there more to the web address?
Tube Friendly Speakers You might want to try and audition the Soliloquy 5.3's and the Silverline Sonatina's. Both have kind impedence curves and should give your push/pull amps a break. I listened to them at different dealers, so I cannot really compare the two, but bot...
Forget Expensive Gel Absorbers Chazzbo: Do a search under both "isolation" and "platforms". I suspect from the length of these threads that some of the members had groups of monks helping them out with the posting.
Break in period for power conditioners ? There is a break in period for each "individual" outlet as well as the whole unit. I have noticed the same thing when replacing the A/C wall outlets that I use for audio. I own two of the HTS-2000's and from memory think that it took approx. 72 ho...
Thanks to a fellow A-gon member Me too: He's got me searching out LL and Chesky CD's (so far I have only found ones with David Chesky performing on them, including the Chesky/Winham Hill BMW audition CD), but I'll keep hunting. Thanks Charlie.
Sakura Systems OTA Cable Kit Yes Kitch, how is the sound? Should we be trying the OTA out of phase and perhaps with a lemon twist?
stan warren,PIONEER mod. Thanks Charlie: That's more than I wanted to invest in a $90 changer that will probably break down in a year. I will just tell Chloe that we need the exercise in between CD's. Oh, and they are Harbeth's you say. The name sounds very stately.
Illuminations D-60 RCA/RCA Survey Lak: It sounds better the "right" way (Gotcha back:-).
stan warren,PIONEER mod. Charlie: Do you still use the Tos Link with the modified player or does it have a coaxial output? I have avoided trying the inexpensive Aiwa changer, mainly because I know little/nothing of Tos Link connections.
Best vibration tweaks Gunbei: Yes, try and arrange all of the cords and cables so that they do not touch the shelves and/or the rack (or anything else except the signal contact point for that matter, as much as possible). I use cotton ribbon to suspend extra lengths of...
Best vibration tweaks Kubla: Before spending $80-$100 or so on butcher's block and X amount on cone points talk to Ken at Neuance about setting up a shelf/platform specifically for your turntable. He's a vinyl guy himself and the Neuance did wonders for the CAL that I ...
Tubes are not so unreliable Tubegoover: I had an old Eico HF-81 integrated amp with the same thing. I sold it in 1985 and it was still running the original EL84's which sounded fine.Nrchy: I own an Audion Silver Night 300B stereo amp which does not run the output, input and ...
Tube Friendly Speakers Mkaes: How large is your room and what amps are you using?
I found it Very funny Jeff. I will forward it to a friend who is a computer tech, right away.
who mfg valvo tubes? It depends on the tube. From what I gather many were produced by Philips owned companies. Which means that they could be Philips or Mullard (maybe Amperex Holland, but I am fishing here). Again depending on the tube though they might even be Sieme... |
