Sakura Systems OTA Cable Kit
Thanks for the info Ivos. Never knew they existed until Sead mentioned them. I will have to think of something to use to try this out (I'm in the USA).
Flamenco and Tango
I am not very organized right now, but the last two CD's of this type that I picked up are:Enrique Morente "Lorca" on the Marada labelFlamenco Highlights from Spain (six artists) on the International Passport label. Both are a good listen.Another g...
Got a melody running around in your head?
"On the Good Ship Lollipop", complete with tap dancing effects. It has been with me for the past forty plus years and I can only pray that it does not exist on the "other side".
How about those vibrapods under bookshelf speaker
$36-$48 - Kelly. They aren't very tasty, but they sure are chewy. Stbhorn: Yes they work - if you want a fuller bass/mid bass sound. Don't know if this would be a good thing if the speakers are close to the wall though? For a few $$ you could also...
Sakura Systems OTA Cable Kit
Hi Sead:Now that you brought it up, I may experiment with separate entrance and return holes/channels on the outer (neutral) portion of the RCA connectors. These will, of course be DIY "jobs", but the "loop", again haphazard in this application, (...
Sakura Systems OTA Cable Kit
Hi Sead:The ones that break the most are the ones connected to hot tube gear and/or a SS amp which runs predominantly in class "A" (also quite "hot" @ the RCA's). I assume that it is the heat that weakens them (as these female RCA's are not on the...

Vandy Owner needs help
I agree with Sean on the Castle Richmonds. You may also want to take a look @ their Pembroke model wich is a slim floor stander with a small foot print. This will give you more bass and a cleaner look (sans stands).
Recommend location and type for kitchen speakers
How about a nice Vandersteen center island? Maybe look into the Gallo Micro line as they are a bit rolled off in the HF's which might do well in a bright sounding kitchen? They are orange/apple sized balls which would look basically like a couple ...
How to pick your first SET tube amp?
Sc: If your room is not too large 300B based amps should work well. Lots of different flavors of these amps, though, and they do not have to be soft/slow and rolled off @ the frequency extremes if you pick wisely. A pair of mono block "kits" getti...
Tubes in Blue
Yul: The blue is very common with rectifier tubes and also output tubes if it is limited to the top of the output tube, just above the vertical plates. If the glow seems to scatter below this area and/or fills the glass globe then I would suspect ...
Tubes in Blue
Yu: What type of tubes are we discussing? A Blue/Purple glow @ the top of the glass globe is usually OK on larger power tubes (I have often found them to be the best sounding), but if it extends lower and seems to cloak the horizontal spacers and/...
best budget hi-fi speakers for my specific system
I would recommend giving the speakers @ least 300 hours of playing time before drawing any conclusions as to their sonic signature (the little $300 AE's take this amount of time (plus) to run in and afterward they evolve into great sounding budget...
How long is too long to ship?
Well, I just sold an item recently @ this site and my bank was not very helpful in confirming that the funds were good (the clerks quoted the usual 7-10 working days). This is not quite accurate as an NSF notice can take up to 14 days via intersta...
Who R U?
Hey Bishop: Albert's just a little testy from listening to MTV for the past four months (while his system has been down). Ordinarily he would allow you to fault before the flogging began. Oh, and watch out for Brulee (he's a tricky little devil:-)
