Pipe music to kitchen
I have always used a radio in places with separate/isolated kitchens.I do not use radio as a source in Hifi setups, but enjoyed listening to it while cooking (my old radio was a KLH Model 21).People seem to like the new Tivoli radios which look si...
Musical Heritage Society LP's
Timchin:They have catalog numbers on them. The ones that I picked up start in the 300's and end up in the 2300's or so. I have seen later digital LP's by MHS and even have a few CD's by them.As far as the range that I own goes, I have never notice...
Electrocompaniet EMC-1: let's talk?
Ernie: Send it on over (I need the practice for when I install the C4S boards in my Paramours:-).Probably need a few bottles of Maker's Mark as well, just to keep the old hands steady.
Digital Cable for 47 Labs Shigaraki Transport/Dac?
Viggen:I do not think that the Mapleshade Double Helix digital cable is the same as their Double Helix analog cable.I'm not certain of the difference, but one thing I noticed is that it sounds "wrong" if it is not connected in the suggested direct...
Has anyone heard the 47 labs Shigaraki DAC?
Kforton:This is the first I have heard of this tweak. What specific type of "paint" is used. I might want to try this on the 8" OTA cables that connect my phono preamps. If I don't care for it I can always snip another 8" off my speaker cables and...
Digital Cable for 47 Labs Shigaraki Transport/Dac?
Holman: I do not use 47 Labs electronics (no longer use a DAC either), but when I used the 47 Labs cable (as a digital cable) between my player and a BC 1.1 DAC I found the Mapleshade digital IC to be close in sound to the 47 Labs cable.I did slig...

Diana Krall - What is your favorite CD of hers?
I prefer DK playing "Down the Street".
Musical Heritage Society LP's
Buy them if they are in good condition. I picked up 100, or so, early MHS LP's, on the cheap, and enjoy them very much. That said, I can purchase mint copies all day long, in my area, for 50 cents to $1 each, so don't pay too much.I purchased the b...
Have you ever deceived your wife-audio purchase
Albert:I have since upgraded to a complete Kraco 8 track system (Bruce has my old Bose setup:-).
Have you ever deceived your wife-audio purchase
Hi Bruce:I decided to go with the Endangered Species MkIV (nucular powered, but of course:-).Your memory really is slipping old boy as I have my face lifted every Wednesday. Thursday would be super though.Chow for now.
Have you ever deceived your wife-audio purchase
Absolutely not. I'm far too rich, famous and extremely sexy to bother with such matters.
what are your favorite movie soundtracks.
I think that this is a compilation CD, but it is one of my favorites."The Masterworks of Satyajit Ray" on the Angel label. My wife gave it to me on my B-Day and found it online (it's a CD). I have probably played it twenty times in the past few weeks.
Power Conditioning for a mid-fi system.
Sugarbrie:Have you used the HTS2000 in your system? I have had very good results using two of them for the past three years. So far I have been able to try the HTS1000/2500 & 3500 models (which I did not care for), but the HTS2000 is an excepti...
need ideas to raise speaker stands
If the spikes are adjustable tilt the front of the stands up a fraction of an inch. A minute rise (@ the front of the stands) makes a big difference in the firing angle @ 8-12 feet away.Material, like Paul suggests, (not the roller blades:-) might...
