Can a tube amp be damaged by a speaker switch? If you are confidant that you can properly use the correct switch consistently (and you will not have others using the setup) then go for it. If a speaker becomes disconnected (cat/dog/ferret whatever) while playing music and it's not noticed you...
Ideas for Pre/Power $9000? If you like your speakers why sell/off load them? Because a poster here dissed them? Pick up a reasonably priced amp (hopefully better sounding to you than your previous receiver) and move on. To spend $9K on gear (based upon chatroom feedback)...
Anyone has a reference system where amplification is SS ? "I will not be directly responding to retards and perverts, of whom there is quite a number here." Good to know... DeKay
Anyone has a reference system where amplification is SS ? This pretty much explains the why of it... DeKay
Ideas for Pre/Power $9000? Buying something inexpensive and well reviewed (to make the system operative) should not take much time and as it's inexpensive there is no rush/pressure to resell the unit. DeKay
Ideas for Pre/Power $9000? The rule of thumb is to find speakers that you like and then pick an amp/electronics that synergize well with them. As you are sans an amp pick up a contemporary/decent "used" integrated amp (here @ A'Gon would be a good choice) for $1K or less a...
Shindo Montrachet amp advice needed... The flip out cover for the AC fuse is located @ the top of the plastic IEC input on the back of the unit (just above where the power cord is inserted). Best to check the power cord @ both ends and the power source. DeKay
True high-end Speakers need a midrange Mine do, mine do! However, they do not have woofers or tweeters. https://auctions.afimg.jp/c1062838564/ya/image/c1062838564.2.jpg DeKay
BEST little know Jazz Album that you ever heard? I do not listen to much jazz, but enjoy "Mose Allison - Alive" recorded in a beach community South of where I live. Think is was done in the 80's, but it has a kind of Beatnik thing going on. DeKay
EAT E-Glo Petit Here's a pic for reference of the ones offered now (the vintage ones I recall were an ugly brown/red rubber or had a silver metal housing with a rubber lining). https://www.psaudio.com/cdn/shop/products/Tube-Puller-1.png?v=1667322156 DeKay
WHY IS THERE SO MUCH HATE FOR THE HIGH END GEAR ON AUDIO GEAR? Much of the time I suspect that the "hate" is directed more towards the person posting about the HE gear and not the gear itself (especially some repetitive posters with a single brand, or two, that they relentlessly post about). Then there are t...
EAT E-Glo Petit Google "vacuum tube puller". Kind of like a solder sucker bulb with a wider mouth. Not certain if it will fit/squeeze in on your unit, but look @ the pics. DeKay
NPS-Q45T on internal amplifier fuses Has anyone compared NPS-Q45T to Temuto MkII? DeKay
Anyone else using slugs instead of fuses? Comments on metals used and sound please Try not to internalize it and you will. DeKay
Anyone else using slugs instead of fuses? Comments on metals used and sound please Once there was a snail who was tired of being slow. He went out and bought a really fast sports car and had the dealer paint a big "S" on each side of it. Whenever someone saw him zooming past in his new car, they would say, "Hey, look at that S-... |
