Importance of streamer in audio chain
I ran into two gentlemen yesterday who said newer Apple iPad and laptops connected directly to a DAC is the best option. Apple is lossless now. I am under the impression that computers are noisy and not a good option. Streaming is about lowering ...
Mofi Sourcepoint 888?
Midrange glare is the worst trait in a speaker. It will be interesting to hear opinions with other front ends. It is NOT midrange glare...this speaker can throw an unusual amount of midrange detail at you for this price (not fake detail), the l...
Best upgrade path from Borresen X3s
Figure out how to to integrate a pair of subwoofers or even a single sub...Ime, the Borresen lineup is a bit difficult to integrate with a sub...(maybe Michael Borresen will release a cool sub at some point). Among the existing options, the KEF KC...
Speaker candidates/suggestions
On your list, the Bison tower would be a decent choice (The other 2 are lackluster non-innovative meh).
Importance of streamer in audio chain
Contrary to popular belief, streamer dac seperates don't always sound that good in execution at various price brackets. There are various technical reasons for this, but, it is the advertising that leads dudes to think separates are the pinnacle o...
a naive question about HT speakers
"Timbre matching" seems as controversial on the internet as high-end speaker cable!  On your great 2 channel non-slacker music listening rig, use speakers from 2 different manufacturers for your left and right speakers. Svs for left speaker, ps...
Holo May KTE vs. Lampizator Atlantic 3 TRP vs. Mola Mola Tambaqui
In conclusion, the Lampi wins overall due to it's realistic analog sound and holographic nature. The Lampi sacrificed detail to get you a "analog" sound. Put your files through the Daniel Hertz master class software. Thereafter, put it through...
10dB resonant peak at 40Hz
Not enough info on the OP, but, I am guessing you are sitting right up against or close to the back wall? Peaks are easy to handle with dsp (not the case with nulls). If you don’t have dsp, put one sub on front wall and a 2nd sub on the back wall...
iFi LAN iSilencer connection
Plug the LAN silencer directly into the ethernet port on your streaming device. Run a good ethernet cable (Axxess, audioquest, etc) from your router or preferably a FMC decoupler to the isilencer.
Food: what does the typical audiophile eat?
Deficiency in vitamin D is associated with bilateral hearing impairment and bilateral sensorineural hearing loss in older adults Great thread...I would assume many of us become more deficient in Vit D over the winter months, etc.
Is the idea of audiophile listening a dying concept as boomers die off?
The younger generations will have something way better (spatial audio, object based audio, etc) for way cheaper. After the boomers’ finite lifespan ends, the younger ones will be wondering why boomers hung onto their lackluster stereo for so long....
1 song you never get sick of?

Repeater/extenders are evil!
A good Wifi signal can do justice to any music, but wifi signals do go bad. I’m lucky enough to live in a detached home with excellent wall to wall signal coverage and no channel conflicts with my neighbors. I don’t think anyone’s too worried a...
external DAC
Your Esoteric should sound better on its own than the PS audio modified by "Richard" (whoever he is) and his electronics...Sounds like a unnecessary downgrade for the sake of tinkering pleasure.
