Just Getting Back Into Audio and Need Help
I noticed on Audiogon that Underwood Hifi is offering the MicroMega M-One 100 new for only $1999 ($3000 below list). This integrated like Focal is manufactured in France, and has been featured in audio shows with the Focal Sopra 2, considerably up...
Just Getting Back Into Audio and Need Help
I am a fan of Focal speakers. I would be a little wary of pairing them with class D amplification such as the Parasound you mentioned — out of concern that you will end up with too much of a good thing, with a hyper-detailed, fatiguing and possibl...
I was happy with my system for 30 years; now I need a new amp...and more?
No worries.  The Stratos monoblocks probably are overkill.

I read the OPs requests. He has monoblocks, sits 12 feet from system, and did not request a downsize in terms of boxes. Why so derisive grislybutter? Seems to be a pattern with you.

It is stretching your budget, but the Odyssey Stratos monoblocks at $2700 suggested by kota1 represent HUGE bang for the buck, and would likely be the last amps you ever buy.  I like the idea of pulling out the Epos for another listen with your ne...

+1 petaluman Excellent advice. If you don’t know whether you will be parting with your Klipsch speakers down the road, or what speaker you might choose, the safest bet would be a solid state amp or integrated — and Parasound has a warmer sound si...
Adding a Dac and Stresmer
I will throw out another option which probably is not what you are after but might consider. The Naim Uniti Atom HE which is a preamp/DAC/streamer that is really outstanding. Great reviews, great PRAT. The preamp is class A.  If you purchased your...
Goodbye Everyone
You will be missed. I for one enjoyed your contributions.  Wish you only the best
If you had to narrow your choices to 4 - 5 speakers

Kumza Stabi S or Rega P10 ??
I think rsf507’s comment above about the synergy of the Kuzma table/tonearm combo is valid FWIW. I don’t think you would go wrong with any of the 3. The Schick tonearm is still Stereophile class A, a real bargain. The Feickert Blackbird is class B...
Kumza Stabi S or Rega P10 ??
You do not need to spend 3K on a HRS plinth obviously. A Mapleshade maple plinth with brass footers would look great with the Stabi.  Pertaining to my last post, I don’t think there is any evidence that a higher mass tonearm with low compliance c...
Kumza Stabi S or Rega P10 ??
I looked at Kuzma Stabi, Rega PS-10 and Feickert Woodpecker with a Thomas Schick 10.5 inch tonearm. Did not audition. Knew I would have to invest in a stable plinth for the Kuzma Stabi like HRS $$, did not care for the look of the PS-10 with white...
Better story teller than Edmund Fitzgerald?
Last post of the evening. For those who have read Irving Stone’s Lust for Life or better yet “Letters to Theo “ , Don Maclean’s ”Starry Starry Night” is a real tear jerker.  IMHO, may equal the OP’s standard.
