Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
@sns  Have you tried the Network Acoustics  Eno filter with the 005? I noticed you posted on another thread that you were going to try it. If you did I would  be interested in your impressions.

@pt999  I agree with you on the sound of the May except I found that the black background and instrument separation was achieved by omitting detail. To my ear the May provided less detail and more separation.  This is to me a contrived but pleasi...
IFI ZEN Streamer
My Stream plays all sample rates including DSD. I use JRiver. It was not easy to get it configured, but once it was set up properly the sound quality is excellent. Adding an inexpensive d-link dgs-105 switch boosted the sound quality even more. I ...
Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
I noticed that Network Acoustics is now selling the 005 in the UK. They state on their website: We are extremely particular about the electronics we use to develop and test our own products, and in the quest to find a reference quality DAC we disc...
Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
Interesting. Can you explain more how it is attached at both ends.
Review: Holo May (L2) DAC and the Musetec Audio (LKS Audio) MH-DA005 DAC Compaired
@metaldetektor Interesting observation on the Weiss. Maybe the takeaway is that on a highly resolving set up, the Weiss could add too much of a good thing. It might be better with a system tailored for it specifically.

Oh. I get it now. I did make a comment that the may volume was low when I tried it with the Zen Stream. I then removed the comment after a couple of minutes because I thought it was irrelevant to the comparison of two dacs using computers setup in...

@cindyment    ASIO was used on both May and 005 for testing. The slight difference between the two dacs in volume via single ended outputs is probably explained by differences in output voltage. The May's output voltage is slightly higher than t...

@cindyment "I am slightly worried about the use of two sources, and Windows sources. My first concern is noise from the PCB over USB, and this could be why you noticed a difference changing away from USB on the 005, but not on the May which appe...

@sns I agree with you that the 005 is probably at or near sota. In terms of comparing current sota to live music, I think we have a long way to go. On a 10 point scale, I suspect we are at a 5. There’s something about live music that doesn’t eve...

@arafig The May and 005 are more similar than different. Both have excellent 3-d palpalpability. The 005 is more like the sixth row. The May is less detailed but has a blacker background. I did not think the DSD mode was particularly better than ...
New Rouge Dragon amplifier
@goldprintaudio  So what does the DragoN sound like? Isn't that the point of this thread?

@lordmelton I have a few dozen native DSD (dsf) files. I feel that the Musetec does a beautiful job with them. I believed from the beginning that DSD sounded better than PCM but given the advances in dacs over the last 5 to 10 years, I’m no long...
Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
@ja_kub_sz  Have you listened to it through USB? I think that the consus is that this input method has been optimized over the others. The argument I have heard against a ddc to I2s is that it is unnecessary since this is what the usb input is do...

@genjamon  I purchased the L2 version instead of the KTE because Goldensound in his YouTube review compared them and, in substance, said there was not a significant difference.     If he said there was a big difference, I would have bought ...
