SP Tech Timepiece 3.0-Dynaudio C1 comparison?
Drubin- Good point. Maybe that was a bit irresponsible on my part. Particularly about dynamic range. I had the Dynaudio predecessors home for a weekend audition (with 150W monoblocks) and their dynamic range was mind blowing. On big bass transient...
SP Tech Timepiece 3.0-Dynaudio C1 comparison?
You can read quite a bit of discussion about SP Tech's at Audio Circle forum. I think their Timepiece Mini's will best the C1's in bass response and dynamic range. I think they are about $3500.00 a pair with what looks to be a superb finish. Happy...
Golden Ear award for $55 speaker tweak
Thanks, Duke, everyone, for your information.
Bookshelf speakers and complex/orchestra
While I agree with everyone, I would like to second, or third, the value of speaker placement. Get those speakers out (on stands, of course) from the rear wall three times their depth, minimum, and spread em apart as far as you can without exceedi...

Thought the Dulce Pontes CD was a bit over produced and her voice got a little thin on occasion, but the Martirio CD is flippin magnificent save for occasional over statement by her young guitar player on the date. Otherwise awfully good with soun...

What equipment or event thrust you into the hobby?
Worked in a record store when I was a kid that sold Altec's and various box speakers. Loved R&B on Texas radio and my best friends older sisters collection of Kenton, Chet Baker, June Christy, etc.

Yes, Sfar, you are correct. Perhaps plaintive would describe some other fado and passion singers, but not her. I think I meant to say lilting. I will be checking out "Flor de Piel" tonite. Cheers. Good that you noted the sound quality, too.
Cheap tweaks...What would YOU reccomend?
If I might be so bold as to suggest that you replace those innertubes with Roller Block jr's under your components and spike your speakers. Here's hoping your speakers like higher resolution.
Modern day female jazz recommendations
Very good responses, yo! This fan is impressed. One of these days, not just yet, Amy Winehouse. Just past, Shirley Horne- You Won't Forget Me (Verve). Sound quality, ah, like 10.
Brag About Your Vinyl Collection
I believe that I have most direct to disc lp's ever released to include the 45rpm's. One of these days, I think I'll catalog my collection. I'm sure I must have some disc's that are worth some bucks. I know I got a lotta of outta prints. My mother...
"mini" monitors for Primaluna prologue two
The Dynaudios are 4ohm speakers. As said above, efficiency is relevant here. Those ProAc's and Reference Da Capo's sound like very good candidates to me, as does the Omega.
