Rosso Fiorentino Arno 40 speakers Great speakers/Beautiful music
@displayname   Thx for the interest and info. Speaking of Italian made loudspeakers Chario also has several models that appear to check many boxes.
Speaker List narrowed down…
@aj523  Congrats on purchasing the Fyne Audio F1 8s!  How has the speaker break in process been? Have less than "perfect" recordings produced any "tunnel affects" that can plague point source loudspeakers?
OK Audiogon, help me out please
@justlance   With room dimensions of 11X11 both speakers appear too large. Have heard the SF Sonetto G2 V, a diet of Rock/Blues might not play to its strengths.
At the top of the line is it really all that different?
Stereophile class ratings hold little to no value. They overate(grade) budget gear to drive sales.
Subs?
Subwoofers are still very difficult to integrate in a true HEA system. HT fans are less about seamless integration but praise the sound of jet engines/explosions and even dinosaurs walking through a jungle, not music to my ears! Dealers/sellers wi...
WHY DO SOME AUDIOPHILES TRY TO TELL OTHERS WHAT THEY CAN OR CAN’T HEAR IN A SYSTEM?
@calvinj    Great thread!  My final statement is the more time/effort/knowledge and money put towards this hobby the better the results. It's that simple!
WHY DO SOME AUDIOPHILES TRY TO TELL OTHERS WHAT THEY CAN OR CAN’T HEAR IN A SYSTEM?
@phusis   Thx for the reply. Synergy has always been the key with building a fine sounding HEA system. The focus should be on synergistic systems at all performance levels not just mocking expensive components that are mismatched. I assume you und...

WHY DO SOME AUDIOPHILES TRY TO TELL OTHERS WHAT THEY CAN OR CAN’T HEAR IN A SYSTEM?
@calvinj Always appreciate when one takes time to reply! It needs to be repeated most of us with true HEA systems have no interest in bragging rights or criticizing others. The negative/cynical fodder usually emanates from budget/vintage or the D...
WHY DO SOME AUDIOPHILES TRY TO TELL OTHERS WHAT THEY CAN OR CAN’T HEAR IN A SYSTEM?
@calvinj IMO the issue with Audiophiles is some take a cynical view of this hobby/lifestyle. Others see the possibilities of conveying music for an intimate experience despite the roadblocks and misinformation out there. The naysayers rebuttal al...

WHY DO SOME AUDIOPHILES TRY TO TELL OTHERS WHAT THEY CAN OR CAN’T HEAR IN A SYSTEM?
One of the trends in HEA is the "I’m smarter than you guy". This group has always existed but has exploded due to mainly budget orientated Youtube audio sellers that make outrageous claims. Even an Audiogon poster claims a Fosi amp is all one need...
New Amp Advice
@lloydc    Unless you have heard his system its very irresponsible to claim "minimal" improvements. An example of this was a SF Amati G5 paired with 2 Atoll AM 400/PR 400 and the results were disappointing at best. A McIntosh MA 12000 was substitu...
New Amp Advice
Synergy could be the issue. Of the power amps you have mentioned Burmester could be the best option. I heard the 218 at a dealer with the SF Lilium and it was sublime! All associated electronics were Burmester(Pre/Phono/CD) TT was an upper level C...
