BAT vk-3ix and Parasound Halo A21 match? Yeah, sometimes the balanced impedance is given as the sum of the legs, and sometimes as per leg, which is a source of confusion.A few dB down at 20 Hz is not something I'd *aim* for, but it doesn't really effect the audible result. The Bryston st...
BAT vk-3ix and Parasound Halo A21 match? Here's what BAT has to say on this issue:"Is the requirement for minimum input resistance dictated by the output resistance of your preamps? No. However, this is a popular misconception. It is common to apply some old rules-of -thumb to things like...
What are your general thoughts of B&W speakers Try to hear Aerial Acoustics and Vandersteen if you can.
BAT vk-3ix and Parasound Halo A21 match? I've used my 3ix with a Bryston 3B-SST, which has an input impedance of 10k/leg balanced. It is a few dB down at 20 Hz (measured with a voltmeter at the amp outputs), but nothing disastrous. The Parasound should be fine.
New tubes in Rogue M-180 Monoblocks Actusreus, I don't remember who I talked to at Rogue. Maybe he thought I was asking about a Cronus. I'll try calling them on Tuesday to get some clarification.
New tubes in Rogue M-180 Monoblocks "08-29-12: TobesThat seems like very poor longevity/reliability from the KT90 tubes - unless you're running the amps 24/7?"The amps do get heavy use from morning until evening every day. But I also forgot to mention that the KT-90s were biased at ...
New tubes in Rogue M-180 Monoblocks I've been running KT-120s in my M-180s for about 6 months. I'm still using the 12A*7 tubes that the amps shipped with.Yes, I'd say it's worth it. My comments at the time I did the replacement were:"They just give you more of everything: more trebl...
Why is my turntable so loud? You definitely want the MM setting with the Ortofon 2M Red.
Why is my turntable so loud? Here's the manual for the A3CR:http://www.musicalfidelity.com/uploads/manuals/English/a3crpre_eng.pdfThe A3CR has an MC/MM switch on the back. Turn the volume all the way down before toggling the button. They list the sensitivity of the MM section ...
Rogue Audio Cronus ...what speakers do you love ? I'm running a sort of scaled up version of the original poster's system: Rogue M-180s into Vandersteen Quatros. I'm using KT-120 tubes in place do the stock KT-90s. I wonder how a Cronus Magnum with KT-120s would compare to the M-180s.
bat vk 3i vs arc ls2b BAT still has the VK-P3 listed on their site. I have one in my 3ix. It's a fantastic phono section.
If you had $2000 to upgrade this system... I think I'd explore other cartridges first. Not that the Stanton is bad -- I don't know anything about it -- it just takes some trial and error to find a cartridge that's "just right". One rately gets it on the first try. If I had $5k, I'd upgrade...
Different cart, much more sensitive to footsteps The isolation is probably not very effective if the stand itself is affected by footfalls. You could try moving the stand against a different (preferably load-bearing) wall. Or you could install a turntable shelf. As for the arm/cart resonance bein...
Solid state warm up? I only meant to qualify my subjective impression of the VK-250SE by saying that I never left mine on 24/7. Again, you've offered no justification for your claim that the 250SE can't adequately drive these speakers.I've no doubt that the OP is hear...
Solid state warm up? "It's not the best model of VK and more than certainly it can't do 300/4Ohms"Says some random anonymous dude on the internet. Unless you can back this up I see no reason not to trust BAT's specs, especially given the massive power supply of the 25... |
