What is "break in" and what difference does it make? In amps? Preamps? Speakers? More?
Its the period of time that the dealer does not want to see you and hopes you dont bring the item back within 30 days.

You need a dac and some good speakers . Period . Spend as much as you can on both of those and use generic cables for now . A bluesound node2i will work in that department. Stick it into the pass labs , stick the pass labs into your amp , and get ... 
Advice on whether speaker upgrade is in order
Big question is are the current speakers meeting expectation. Is there a certain flavour no matter how much you tweek. Make sure your room and speaker placement is up to snuff first . Experiment and take your time listening.

Out in the wild , the main lines under the sidewalk have to be a foot apart. And thats separated by a foot of sand. I think there is a lot more at stake in those lines. Anyways , yes keep them apart . Zip ties , whatever.

I would think that within a certain distance . One opposing driver would either assist or hinder the other at a given frequency. Taking all walls and reflective surfaces out of the equation . Dead of space. Think about a truly tuned exhaust. It re...

Reason i ask is i have 2 x18” jbl 2245 aiming at about 20” apart and hung from the underside of floor . And they sound incredible . Not  boomy sound but accurate and on cue. They have a very black background. And only reveal themselves when there ...

Does anyone technically know what happens when you aim two subs at each other?  Say a foot or 2 feet apart . Is there an ideal distance apart to do with frequency? Does it have an affect on the opposing woofer itself such as improving the rearward...
